Black sand beach with coral, tropical fish and elusive turtles. Most of the activities are at the Vienna Hotel end of the beach, but there is still enough to see for the length of the entire beach.
Unfortunately, there is rubbish in the water and on the sand, but if everyone picks up a bag full, then it can be kept under control.
You can take trips on local fishing boats from this location.
There are places to hire snorkeling gear and several warungs along the beach.

Really beautiful black-sand beach! The water is super clear and a great place for snorkeling - also suitable to children and/all weaker swimmers. There are so many fish and interesting coral!

There are a lot of businesses on the edge for hiring equipment and chairs, but you can simply ignore them if you're not interested. You shouldn't have to pay any fee for being on the beach.

Lovely place. Good snorkelling, saw turtle.
Would recommend.

Good vibrations, no one was crossing boundaries in trying to sell things.

We came to Bali Bhuana Beach Bungalows on Lipah Beach to snorkel and it was a great decision. Plenty of colourful fish, blue starfish and a resident turtle at the south end of Lipah beach ( seems to visit at about 4 pm). The fishermen are reseeding coral and you can see lots of baby yellow coral growing close to shore. Top tip - snorkel out when the tide is high to ascertain where the channels between corals are. Lovely beach and this bay seemed calmer than others on windy days so the visibility remained good.

Amed is a busy but away from it all place with maybe more dive shops than cafes.
It was quiet early June thou and little buzz..further on at Lipah beach was pretty deserted and void of tourists but still relaxing as village life carried on.
Fisherman and family with their daily life’s continued
Life in Amed tucked near the end is a good place to stay or nip in and enjoy their food.

Vienna Beach Resort is the place to park yourself. Their restaurant overlooks the black sand beach. Sun loungers and snorkel gear can be rented from locals in front of the resort. The çoral garden'is located not far from the beach. Nice place to chill out.

The most amazing beach in Bali where you both can go snorkelling and enjoy the beach and go swimming. Nice hotels and restaurants close by, and of course, Balis highest and most beautiful mountain which is also an active volcano Gunung Agung.

, so many people asking annyingly at the beach, pretending to start small talk, wanting to sell what ever is possible, lying, and in stead i that they should all together clean the beachfront, where 15 garbage bags, already ripped open are standing. wish even one of them could read the room and understand, people come if the want something, this behaviour is exremely annoying, especially solo women are being talked and talked to, that they are even leaving, cause too annyed.

A lovely beach with a laid-back feel, beautiful clear warm water, and excellent snorkelling. There are plenty of restaurants and hotels here, but there's no busy vibe like other oceanfront locations in Bali. Take a boat ride in a traditional jukung for fishing, snorkelling, diving, or to see the sunset in the next bay. The locals are friendly and there's no problem with being hassled, like other beaches. At the moment there are turtles residing here, which you can see with a simple snorkeling journey not far from the shore. In some spots it's a little rocky, and beach shoes are helpful - but if you head out just in front of Warung Indah, its sand all the way. Love this beach, and have returned again and again!

We have been coming here for 15 years and the atmosphere has deteriorated badly. Just too many people walking on the coral and destroying it. Far too many tourists on this beach. The locals that rent the snorkelling equipment and beach chairs have become quite aggressive and loud. It really has lost its charm, which is a sad thing. These days even the dive instructors take their clientele walking across the coral.
The Vienna Beach Resort restaurant at one end of the beach looks much nicer but the food is relatively expensive and worse than average. The waiters and waitresses are friendly but it’s lost it’s original warm ambience.
