A good and well equipped retreat. Staff were very helpful. Rooms are comfortable and the food was average. Recommended for peace and quiet and communing with nature. Close to many of the attractions of Northumberland. Not cheap, but on balance worth it.

You can also get a train to Newcastle and Carlisle if you want to travel further afield. Hexham abbey is worth a visit.
