We took two boats out this morning with two families and small kids. The tour was beautiful, very serene, and we did a stop over for a swim of one of the sandbanks. What a special place this is. Many thanks to the amazing community who runs it and maintains these precious mangrove for rests.

Fantastic destination for birdwatching; both resident migratory birds from Europe. The creek is an important breeding site for diverse species of fish and you can spot fishermen in the morning or evening casting nets or fishing. The site is a roosting and staging site for waders and provides an ideal feeding ground for turtles. There are local guides knowledgeable on flora and fauna found in the area. You can choose to spend the night at their camping grounds and enjoy the sundowner and sunrise the next morning. You can take a canoe ride to the near by Islands including; green and kirepwe islands and also engage in birding.

It looks scary, it can be dangerous and people should be careful. But this place was amazing. We had an amazing family(20+ people with kids) quality time.

This place can be used for team building outing. Companies can take a break and bring its people here.

For sure, there will be laughter, nervousness and in general loud. The tour guide guys are funny, good and encouraging.

Don't judge, go up the bridge and cross the bridge. You'll for sure enjoy it and at the end you'll be thankful.

I wish the county government could put some money on minor repairs, but phewww it's Kenya :(

It was a shaky beginning at the board walk then we enjoyed it all. We ensured our phones were fully charged for photoshoots especially when we walked without touching the side ropes for support. The best sea view is at the finish so finishing this walk matters. The office was receptive and welcoming. Thank you Thoya. Get ready to pay for a boat ride at the island, shoes, tour guide fees and extra hours. All affordable.

This is set in the most beustful setting on Mida creek and you can see the boardwalk was wonderfully but it needs repairing for safety.

The Boardwalk has been built by A Rocha and their ASSETS program to help local to pay school fees with tourism attraction. You'll learne about mangrove, the creeck and ask question about fisherie to better understand the key aspect this habitat plays for people life!

A combination of Beauty from Mangroves, Boardwalk, the Birds and Canoe Ride on the Ocean was a true walk through Nature.

The local guide was very good and took us through identifying mangroves, crabs and other burrowing creatures to the boardwalk.

This was a very well worth it excursion - got to see 4 types of mangroves , different species of birds. When the tide is out you can walk on the sand deep into the "sea". Took the canoe ride around the island and when we got back tide was in. Very informative and fun

This was defintiely worth it. The boardwalk is incredibly pretty, and only 15 minutes from Watamu/Gede on a matatu. I would recommend the canoe tour as well, as you get to see some incredible crabs and get up close and personal with the mangrove trees. Top attraction in the area!

The food was delicious as well.

This is a "must go" place if you ever visit Malindi or Watamu in Kenya. Walking in the boardwalk is an unforgettable moment. Felt like I was a movie actor. I had only seen those things in movies. The end of the boardwalk opens to the sea and if you carry a pair of powerful binoculars, you can spend some time watching rare birds or the other side of the lagoon.
Hint: It is better to go during the low tide. The boardwalk hangs low in some places, which make me think someone might get trapped during the high tide. Carry some water.
