Mesmerizing views from behind the waterfall on a path requiring caution and use of the handrail in place. We also swam in the pool below the falls, an exhilarating an refreshing experience though entrance is on rocks, no steps provided. Walking the path to the falls from the parking area and viewing the falls from above is worth the short walk.

We first did the falls of roberto barrios and then drove to Misol Ha. While roberto barrios are many waterfalls and you can pick a spot Misol ha is 1 big waterfall and 1 'cenote'. We were the only swimmers.
Entrance fee was 50 MXN pp, more expensive than Roberto barrios.
You can go behind the waterfall.
So definitely worth it and an ideal combo with RB.

It is worth seeing them even if reaching them nn is completely simple. We left Oaxaca we reached san cristobal de LAS casas and then with a get your guide we visited both misol ha, agua Azul and palenque. If you want, if it helps, the tour was run by Otisa.

This waterfall is definitely worth the short stop on the way to Palenque. You can walk behind the waterfall. Don’t bother paying the few extra pesos to walk in the cave and see another waterfall. It’s nothing special. If you have extra time, you can take a swim in the waterfall basin.

If you're an Arnie fan don't miss the waterfalls of Mishol - Ha, this is where the famous scene where Arnold Schwarzenegger jumps from the top of the waterfall.

Not only is it famous but it's a really beautiful waterfall in a lovely relaxing setting, if you're in the Palenque region this is well worth a visit!

South of Panque there are a range of Cascades and waterfalls - afterall it is in a jungle-like climate with plenty of water to be found. The Misol-Ha Falls are very popular on the "tourist map" and it can get slightly crowded. There ia descending pathway from the car park down to the base of the Falls - there is slight up-hill path which takes you behind the actual veil of water up to a small cave that allows you to walk to an enclosed grotto. Note well that the grotto is pitch black and the water level is about shin deep - you need to take off your shoes and roll-up the legs of your pants. It can be slippery and the underwater floor is strewn with odd rocks here and there. We entered using the torch function on our mobile phones. Sometimes there is a person at the entrance with a powerful torch and a bin to put your shoes in - a small monetary tip is appropriate. Inside the grotto there are a couple of bats swooping around and also a small waterfall that spouts from a hole in the cave wall. There are two places to enter the lake at the base of the waterfall - one near where the waterfall Cascades down and one back down from the car park.

For making a nice picture if a waterfall, this is a great spot, only half an hour from Palenque. A bit crowded. Won't spend more than 30 minutes here, though.

Miso-ha cascades are typically a pit stop destination if you decide to do a tour. It's an impressive, breath-taking waterfall. There's a short pathway you can walk (about 1/4 of a mile) to appreciate the waterfall from almost underneath it. You can swim here, so take your swim clothes. However, if you're going with a tour, you'll probably be pressed for time. Enjoy!

We made a short stop at the Misol-Ha Waterfall. It is a gorgeous view, but the best was when we crossed behind it. The water sprayed us all over it felt soooo good.
Once you cross behind the main waterfall you can cross over a little one to go to a small cave. It is safe enough to walk with normal sandals or whatever shoes you are wearing.
As we knew we would be soaking we left all the wallets and cameras in the car, so we couldn't enter the small cave (they charge you about 10 or 15 pesos I think). It seems you get a flashlight and get to cross through the little river inside the cave to see a second waterfall. Maybe you can give it a chance ;)
