It is my favorite Mayan ruin . Palenque emits a special mystical feeling in a jungle setting . My first trip was 40 years ago before tourism . My small children and my Mexican friends with 4 children drove through the jungle which took 2 hours from Villahermosa .There was an archeologist and a professor and us . There were... More

We loved our visit to the incredibly beautiful ruins at Palenque. Make sure you give it pretty much a full day as it is a large area with a plethora of things to see and marvel at. The temples are astonishing and the whole park is beautifully manicured to show them off, not overly though as to take away from... More

excellent park, but the personnel ( guide tours) located in the entrance of the park try to fool the people charging a price too high for a giving a tour, that is a shame because also tries to fool to the national tourism.

Having visited several Mayan sites, to me Palenque is the best one. Set in a tropical type jungle, the temples and the un-excavated sites are stunning. You do need a good guide to understand all of it. There are the usual facilities: Toilets, bars, souvenir shops etc. Do give yourself plenty of time as it is a big site.

Tropical rain forest with so many different kinds of plants. A great place to enjoy the nature. Breathe the fresh air and hear the birds singing. Pure relax!

Just go! Right now! Book a ticket and go. We loved, loved, loved our time here. The English speaking tours are expensive - $190 USD for 3 hours BUT it includes a guided tour into the jungle where only tour guides can take people. The jungle section was amazing because there are so many unexcavated ruins in the jungle. Our... More

No need to join a tour to go to ruins. I really enjoy to walking around the park, but especially climbing on the ruins, sitting on top of there for a while just to watch the spectacular view was the memory that i will never forget. It s felt so much blessed.

This place is a must if you want to see a magnificent site full of stunning temples and surrounded by a deep jungle and beautiful waterfalls. Allow yourself three or more hours to visit the whole site. One of the most famous temples is the Temple of the Inscriptions where the tomb of one of the most famous Maya leaders... More

Edgarguiapalenque@gmail.com. Contact Edgar!! Great guide, knowledgeable, kind and FUN!! Palenque is a must-see site. We've seen many many Mayan temples, this is one of the best preserved. We learned alot from Edgar and saw some sites you'd need a local to find. We crawled through an ancient aqueduct and saw bats!! We also saw 2 groups of howler monkeys.
