The Paringa bridge spans the Murray river between Renmark and Paringa . It is one of four suspension bridges in the state and has one opening section and was constructed in 1927.

We visited the bridge while staying in Renmark. It was interesting to see how quickly it rose and how efficiently the boats were ushered through. Happens at 9.30 and 2.30. Don’t be late though.

Beautiful place to stop and watch the bridge opening at 0930 and 1430 daily. You are able to walk over the bridge and walkways will take you into Renmark. I highly recommend taking the time to stop and unwind.

A nice place to stop the car and watch the bridge go up and let boats through. You need to check that you are there at the right times as this only happens twice each day. This is helpful if you want to be there...More

Stayed at the caravan park right next to the bridge. Lovely walk over the bridge and around the surrounding park lands at sunrise. Interesting relevant information can be seen when walking across the middle of the bridge

Historic bridge opening at set times and stops traffic. The bridge is a vertical lifting design which is offset by counterweight blocks and only uses a small electric motor to drive the mechanism. The best place to view the bridge is from the park adjacent...More

Very narrow bridge but semi trailers use day and night it so okay for vigilant vanner to traverse at the recommended 30kms per hour. Has separate spans to separate incoming and outgoing traffic. Piece of historic engineering still performing a vital function to allow larger...More

During our stay in Renmark, and we drove over this bridge many times. It is rather narrow, and towing a caravan over it is bit of a concern. Wish you could stop on it, as the views up and down river are beautiful.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see this. It's an old historic bridge that opens a couple of times per day. Would be interesting to see it open but we were there at the wrong time. Ok but don't bust your boiler to...More

It depends on when it needs to lift. It happens when a large boat needs to pass underneath. Once or several times a day. Never at night.
