Set amongst wonderful walking tracks and NZ greenery, these gardens are a young child's dream. With the opportunity to run around safely the little ones can explore the 'homes' of some of their favourite nursery rhyme characters. Very cheap for the experience and worth the drive from Tauranga. Make sure you go on a bright sunny day.

This place is so beautiful! I can not recommend highly enough! So many secret places to explore and I love how there are so many separate parts to the garden it's lovely. The sculptures are great and the view from up there is amazing. There were lots of Daffodils in bloom but we will be coming back in a few... More

The gardens and buildings are starting to look a bit worn and tired but it was still an afternoon of adventure for our kids, aged 6&3, who loved trying to seek out all the little buildings and sculptures. Would have been great in its prime. Not much you can do for $15 dollars a family and that was it (... More

This walk is a short drive from Tauranga, just outside of Te Puke. It is a gorgeous garden in its own right, but the fun thing for kids is all the storybook characters spread around it! Look for the three little pigs houses, tweedle dee & dum, & the queen of hearts. Challenge yourself to climb up the 'stairway to... More

Quite a long walk involved, no flowers to see which was disappointing. No cafe:>( Pathways well maintained and the map came in very handy!

We arrived not knowing you needed cash, but the lovely elderly lady who owns the place let us in for the change we had telling us stories of the garden and how her parents got to NZ many moons ago. My two kids aged 3 & 4 loved the gardens, using the map we were able to get there imaginations... More

Staff in the local shop were enthusiastic about this attraction including a cafe, which we decided to visit. Its a long way on a gravel track and so poorly signposted that we and the camper(about ten minutes later) both drove past and had to turn and drive back. There was an honesty box for the 5dollar admittance fee, but no... More

It's a really fun day out with or without children! We are a family of 3. 49 years, 24 years and 16 years! We all loved it and would say it's a fab day out! The wooden story houses are decked out really nice! A lot of time and effort has gone into this lovely garden!

My husband and I happened upon this place on the way to the Kaiata Falls and we really enjoyed the stop and walk through the plantings and artworks. The storybook houses were cute and well-maintained. The property is off the market and the son is going to be doing more to advertise the place.

I had great expectations of these gardens and was somewhat disappointed. The property is for sale and the elderly owners have not done anything in the gardens for two years as they have been renovating their house. This was evident from all the weeds growing on the paths and broken tree braches just left on the ground. The three little... More
