What a beautiful gorge!
The road winds between great cliffs on either side as you drive towards the Noravank Monastery.

High rock faces either side of the road, you do wonder about rock falls as you travel theough it. But, it is an impressive drive and makes you feel small on this planet of ours.

Our trip up to Noravank Monastery was highlighted by our drive through the Gorge.

The views are unbelievable and are part of the experience visiting the Monastery.

Very narrow road in sections, sharp curves, steep sides, but great spots to stop to take photos, when possible.

the gorge is stunning, the rocks amazing colours and the little restaurant on the right just after you turn into it is well worth a stop. The monastery is beautifully situated

You have to pass through this gorge getting to the monastery, and it is quite impressive. Very narrow at some places with steep, vertical sides, then it widens again and you can see all the caves in the mountain side.

but nothing out of the ordinary. Reddish clay colours did make the gorge more distinctive. Road was narrow, so the feeling if being encroached can be felt.

SOme of the best scenery we saw in Armenia. Good road between the cliffs, all the way to the monastery.
