By the time I visited Areni Wine Factory, I had visited several others and had tried lots of excellent Armenian wine. So, for me, this was not a wine tasting visit - by the way, I thought their wines were rather mediocre - but another hospitality experience.
Of interest were the large, beautifully painted earthenware qvevri vessels.
The young lady who offered me samples and showed me around was simply delightful : charming, passionate about the winery and very informative. She did a splendid job and turned my winery tour into a most pleasant experience. Thank you !

This is a small winery and has groups tour. There was wide selection wines and wines and wines produced from fruits which was my first experience. They offer a tour of the winery for the visitors and tell us about the winery making process, including the crushers as well as the maturing process.
They offer a wide tasting of wines and we tasted 9 wines including fruit wines. The pomegranate wines was my favorite. A nice place to visit. We liked the atmosphere wholly and the information given in the wine tour by the lady. It is located nearly 110-120km far from Yerevan on the left bank of river. The place is small place is really informative and worth to be visited.
There’s a small souvenir shop selling the wines produced there and the pricing was very good. They offer wines for sale, nicely priced.

We were treated to a fantastic wine and spirit tasting. There were nine wines and five spirits. Dis not really enjoy the pomegranate wine, but the rest were good.

I have visited a few wineries around the world, even though the wine tasting was good but I did not see anything special about the Wine Factory. It was small, the tour was not interesting but the place was nicely done and cozy.

Very friendly service, the lady that helped us also suggested to give us a tour through the shop, which was interesting. The wines tasted great.

This place seems to be a real tourist stop for conducted tour groups.
We had a tour of the place by a member of staff and we viewed the steel vats, the crushing machine, bottling and labeling machines as well as oak barrels and the red wine cellar. Interesting.
Our tour was followed by a short tasting session of the winery's dry white, rose and red. I understand that the wine grape variety is rather unique.
The whole process of the visit seemed to be very mechanical.
Would have preferred to have gone to the winery itself!!!

I have been there twice and every time was impressed by the atmosphere wholly and the information I have heard about the winery. It is located nearly 110-120km far from Yerevan on the left bank of river Arpa. They make excursion for visitors and tell them about the winery making process, show the ready or semi-ready product, and of course wine tasting is in the end. To sum up, this small place is really informative and worth to be visited.

A wide election of local wines including fruit wines. They offer a wide tasting of wines.
20-30 minutes max. They offer wines for sale, average prices. A nice place to stop if you understand the main focus is sales
