We were re-connecting with our family and were privileged to have a cousin drive us beyond touristy Krakow. Recalling that my hubby is a "castle aficionado" we visited the Zamek Pieskow Skala, a treasure well worth your time with guides who speak several languages including (for us) English.

If you manage to evade the misleading directions provided by Google Maps you will arrive at a very nice picturesque place. Visually impressive, the castle is nestled on a hill between rocks. The courtyards seemed to me a bit over restored. We only visited the main collection with a tour group. They have some very impressive items, Gdansk furniture, Meissen and faience porcelain and so on. None of the items are directly connected to the castle. The most interesting room for me was the last one, where they have some great paintings by well known Polish painters (Wyspianski, Malczewski, Kamocki, Weiss, Chelmonski). It was sad that we only had 3 minutes in that room. In general, I really hope they will allow individual visitors to visit the exhibit without having to join a Polish language tour group.
The restaurant Herbova, by the way, on the premises, is a must. It is excellent, both food and service.

This is a great little castle. The exterior is undamaged although there were several renovations over the centuries. The original interior is mostly gone. there is a small, beautiful Renaissance garden which is very enjoyable. The restaurant at the castle has good food and a great terrace to enjoy views of the castle and surrounding area from.

Nice castle if you are in area and you have free time. If youre interested in old things or art it's good to take ticket that include exhibitions. Guide was very interesting, gardens are super pretty! Parking for about 10 polish zloty.
Disabled people don't have any special parking spot.
Toilet's inside.
Restaurant with good prices.
Good to buy online ticket so you can avoid standing in line.

A wonderfully located castle in the heart of the Ojców National Park, beautiful sunsets, next to the Club of Hercules and nice forest paths.

Great location, cosy grounds, very small castle gardens, interiors a bit on the underwhelming side. If what you are really interested in is exhibits, you can just head directly to the National Museum in Cracow. When you exit, do not hesitate to turn right and make a short stroll to the Maczuga Herkulesa rock formation (the distance shown on the mock-up placed at castle grounds is not at all misleading).

This castle looks like it's out of a fairy tale. And with all its history it pretty much is. With legend of a local girl being thrown into the well for not wanting to marry to fantastic artwork from centuries below. This castle is well worth the price if admission. The best part is this is not a huge tourist attraction so it's nothing quite as busy as other castles like in say germany. Well worth going great pictures can be made here. Great restaurant too.

We went up North of Krakow to see the Pieskowa Skała castle and the adjacent interesting rock formation called Herkules’ Club. Lovely place, even when closed (we arrived late in the afternoon). The walk around the castle and the views are worthwhile the 40 min drive.

This imposing castle has a wonderful setting above Ojcow National Park. There are several car parks here and they are quite popular. We ended up parking a little further down the road near the Hercules Club and walked here. From the large gatehouse you enter a lovely large internal courtyard. The castle had been recently renovated and had an imposing clock tower and another tower in the Czech painted style which made the façade look 3 dimensional. There was lovely views from the walls and we could see a small formal garden laid out below. It was a stunning castle and there were a series of info boards at the bottom which gave a brief history and detailed the restoration works. We did not go inside as we knew the interior information was Polish only. There is a nice terrace cafe which has lovely hot chocolates and a beautiful view.
