Beautiful bay, but think twice!! Price parking 6€ per hour (I know right...), and when you get to the paid beaches... brace yourselves! Cheapest for 2 chairs and umbrella is 200€... excuse me????

I was staying in Portofino and wanted to go to this beach. Take the bus for 3 Euros. Local taxi wanted 40 euros to drive 7 mins up the road. I was going to walk but so hot. The bay itself is gorgeous and clean as is the beach. Be prepared, however, bc beach chairs range from 170-240 euros. Get there early to reserve your chairs . Local restaurants deriving good/drinks all around the bay. Cute shops in the middle ( one sold floats!)

This bay is amazingly beautiful!
To enjoy it you have to follow the locals'footsteps, or...pay the absurd fee required from gullible tourists to stay on a small overcrowded beach ;-)
The best way, then, is to arrive by foot from Santa Margherita Ligure along the beautiful coastal path, and bring towels, sunscreen and water. The walk is incredibly scenic and leaves you speechless! Before arriving to the heart of the Bay with its restaurants and private beach, you'll see young locals sitting on the rocks and jumping in the sea. This is where you want to stop and join them: if you go early, you'll find spots to lay down. If you go later, just leave your stuff there (very safe) and go swimming in the cristalline water (which, btw, is way nicer than near the private beach). We generally leave our belongings there, dive in and swim across this pristine bay, resting on the boulders across where there is NOBODY. Pure heaven!

The place is beautiful although the day we were there, the water was murky, not very clean. It gets better if you swim out. The public “beach” is a joke, a sliver of dirt sandwiched between the two private beach clubs. Pitiful. If you want to feel like a human, you will have to pay 200 euro for a storage locker, two lettini, an umbrella, and four towels. I don’t believe you can rent just one lounge. This is the highest I’ve ever seen for a beach in Italy, including some pretty fancy places around Liguria and Sorrento. This was the beach club on the right if you are looking from the shore. It was clean and comfortable, but still…

A fun, teeny-tiny beach village on the walk from Santa Margherita to Portofino. A cove on the coast with barely a sliver of a beach with chairs to rent and a few nice bars and restaurants. Very cool for a few hours. A hidden bit of the Italian Riviera.

Baia de Paraggi just off the yacht harbor of Portofino is a beautiful bay along Ligurian coastline. In order to access to the bay for swimming, you have to pay a high fee to the private operator which is considered to be unacceptable. Anyway, the place is beautiful.

What an awful little village. Went on sunny day in July. The public beach was such a tiny sliver that it was literally impossible to find a place to put a towel. And the guys at the private beach rental places were all demanding personal bribes in addition to the posted rates. At the very least this is tax fraud. My wife had always dreamed of swimming in Portofino. What a disappointment.

Keep away from this place if you travel alone, because you cannot rent one sunbed, you must rent two. Stupid.

we paid 140 EUR for the four of us to enter the beach (35 EUR per person). The only thing we got was a towel. Despite the high price paid service was below zero.
We had to serve ourselves from the bar on top of it the lady serving was extremely impolite.
Yes the view was nice and it is a beautiful area, but really the price is not up to the standard.
Very disappointed from the service, staff mainly the one behind the bar.

Thought to share my thoughts to help other guests.

Booked two "lettini" at the restaurant, "Carillon", on the "far" end of Paraggi as you proceed along the coast from Santa Margherita Ligure. Because of the price (Euro 40 per chair), the club was half empty, but we loved the fact that we were away from the "madding crowds", beaches full of kids and day-trippers. Ordered wine from the restaurant, and a great way to spend the day, on the beautiful bay, surrounded by amazing architecture.
