Folldal Mine and Mine Village is preserved with most of the buildings and equipment intact (1748-1993). There is also a museum and a National park centre with several exhibitions about the mining, Industrial Relations, Rondane Geopark and Nature. Had a fun ride 600 meters into the mountain mine. Brought kids 7-13 years and they all enkoyed it. The guide was funny and knowledgeable about the history of the mine. Great acoustics in Vorms Hall. As if the mountain king himself would show up...More

Difficult to score! A visit to the mines and the museum/exhibition is highly recommendable and a 4 buttons score. Interesting, a lot to see, history, equipment, displays. The outside area is also interesting with all the remaining "stuff" from the period of activity. The train...More

Interesting place and nice touch with the traintour in the mine. Wish the guide had more indepth knowledge and interest. Would have been nice if it was possible to search archives over workers and maby a better timeline of the development of the mine.

The train into mines wasn't working because we were here after the season, but the free museum was nice (and homemade cakes too :)). Except the slovak speaking staff (who were very nice), there was also english speaking guy who was also very friendly and...More

The tour is quite short. Most details in the museum are norwegian only. On the tour, you get two pages to read (English, German) while the guide talks much more in detail in norwegian. You can ask questions in english tough. Without the details not...More
