Look for the Green Gate -- If you do find this you need to park at the side of the road and walk down a steep slope -- when you get there you have 3 routes -- all are short so don't worry and all...More

About a 15-minute hike downhill from the highway, you can sit in a craggy cove and get sprayed by the crashing waves. It never gets old. Quiet, not overrun by visitors although we weren't alone. The hike back up is not overly exerting. Do bring...More

The entrance is not well marked. At mile marker 37.8, around a bend, you'll find a steep dirt trail leading to a tunnel. Through the tunnel, there will be a small path to an outlay of rocks and beautiful views of a secluded cove. The...More

While the hike itself was beautiful and enjoyable we came back to our rental car to find the passenger window smashed in and a few things taken including my purse which had my keys in it. We were gone at most a half hour. We...More

It's a good hike to the bottom...and so worth it. The tunnel and cove were great places for photos. Nice little waterfall where we saw hummingbirds and lots of butterflies.

The hike/spot is now on Google Maps but there is no marker on the highway except for the appearance of cars parked along the road. The hike is a short .5 mile hike down a steep path, make a right at the first fork then...More

This place is a little obscure, and I imagine it doesn't get factored into a lot of people's Big Sur itineraries, but that would be a mistake. This is a gorgeous little spot after a cool hike that surrounds you by cliffs (small mountains?) on...More

Yes, but the minister will need to be agile, there is a mile walk down a steep road. .. ...and the same walk up!
