Sadly, at the time of visiting, the PCH had been closed between Carmel and Santa Barbara because of a major mudslide. So we drove down to Pfeiffer to enjoy what we could of this historic coastline road. In short, it's fantastic.

Great detour from Bixby bridge. AWD recommended but not required when it's dry. Great nature and scenic views.
