    Let the force be with you - a visit to any spirit nest is like a visit to Esalen - almost - disclaimer here - my daughter has been working on these nests but we stopped at this garden by chance

    "hippie dippie & fun"

    Yes, this place is a throwback to an almost disappearing memory of California ,but if you can still remember those days its a sweet spot. My favorite things are in the little shop next to the garden with a wisp of incense as you enter....More

    Ohhh yeah

    What's a visit to Big Sur is you don't make it to the Spirit Garden! It has just changed management..but still seems to be going strong..local art..music..garden...galleries...gas and food too...you gotta check this place out! I found an amazing piece of local Bubble Jade in...More

    Unfortunately this was closed. We were able to walk around the property but not enter the garden area. I would say that from the outside it needs a lot of work, but sure did look interesting.

    Looked Ghastly

    The Spirit Garden was closed when we were getting ripped off at the Bakery. The cactus and plant area was a nice (very short) walk. You could see the Spirit Garden from the garden area and it looked like some kind of hippie dream come...More

    Fun and funky

    Was very happy to find this place, an interesting garden to walk around and enjoy. :) Definitely worth the stop.

    The ultimate New Age setting

    We were told that a famous Brazilian drummer was performing at 7:30. We were ready for an adventure and we certainly had one. Admission was $20 and we felt like we were on a film set created in the late 60's. Lots of spiritual tokens...More

    Lots of rules and lots of stuff to buy

    A kind of cramped garden with signs everywhere saying "do not enter" and do not climb. There are some nice plants (but the emphasis is things like drums and artsy statues and a few stages that could be used at some times plus a shop...More

    Awaken your inner Artist

    This free garden is a sanctuary for artists to come and work. It was created by the son of the gallery owner, and she says he works around the world building 'tree nests' for people. Beautiful, peaceful. And the art inside the gallery is lovely.

    This is not a "spirit" garden, per se.

    It's truly easy to miss this spot as it is located in a center with the bakery, deli and other shops. Although they call it a spirit garden I'd call it more of a succulent garden. Lots of kitchy stuff around, too. We were expecting...More
