Stop and to read about information on the old house owned by the Browns that used to look over this monumental view. take your time, put the camera/cell phone down to take in all that is around you! This road stop can be done in about 30 minutes but it is well worth it.

I visit McWay Falls often. It is such a picturesque spot. It is easy to miss, but it is a must stop on Highway 1 as you meander through Big Sur. The falls are beautiful as they spill onto the sand below. There can often be lots of tourists, but I try to tune it all out and just relish... More

At least once a year I drive up Highway One because it is one of the most glorious places on earth. One of the special spots along the way is McWay Falls. It is actually freque4ntly seen in photographs, but easy to miss whyen driving in the area. You can't see it from the road, but from the parking area... More

This bay is more than beautiful. Perhaps you know it from photos, but you have to see it on your own. We parked at the street and made a short pause there. I have really to thank the guy in the Apple Store in Monterey who told me of this place while waiting the register is working again.

When you are on Highway One take the time to stop over here; we ended up parking on the road as did not realise that the next turning took you to the car park and a small tunnel under the road....this would have been better than crossing the road and watch that bend! This place has such atmosphere and the... More

This is definitely worth the stop! Beautiful views and a short walk to see the McWay Falls. I loved the smells and the actual view of McWay Falls is stunning.

We planned to stop here on our drive up the coast for a lunch picnic. The entire drive up to this point was breathtaking and the waterfall provided another focal point on this scenic drive. We walked along the trail going north to see the waterfall and the water was gorgeous! Wanting to get away from the crowds and have... More

The Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is absolutely worth your time... if you're interested in visiting a relaxing and naturally beautiful location. There is an added bonus... often, the park is empty... and you can enjoy the views without having to feel pressured to move along so others can enjoy the view. As soon as you turn into the park... This is a stream of water, not what I call a waterfall. You can't even get to the waterfall. Waste of time.

We stopped off here for an hour or so on our PCH trip. We parked on the road in one of the may bays and walked down to the photo spots. It is a free attraction. The walk was a little uneven however you can get a good view without doing the walk too. The view of Big Sur and... More
