This is by far not the best snorkling venue to be found. The operators all enforce the wearing of a PFD when one is in the water, hence snorkling turns into floating. So, if your definition of snorkling is to actually make it below the surface, then this activity will disappoint you. I guess from a floating perspective it would... More

My wife has wanted to learn to scuba for years and we decided that this area would be a great place to learn. We had 4-dives off the coast of Puerto Morelos and all of them were great. There were numerous fish and small Barracuda, which seemed to be content in our presence. If you are staying in or around... More

As marine biologists, we loved snorkelling in the national park You have to go a long way around the world to find seagrass as good as this (note: seagrass is an underwater flowering plant rather than algae/seaweed). The seagrass was host to lobster, starfish, a good selection of fish, and some epically amazing spotted eagle rays! Diving was also good,... More

I went snorkeling here and we had a great time. The reef is very healthy and we saw a lot of animal life & beautiful coral (our favorite was the sting ray and schools of fish). This is the second largest reef system in the world and there is a lot to explore. We have been snorkeling here before and... More

Went there on a 4-hour snorkeling tour with a company who picked us up from our Cancun hotel. All snorkeling trips had been canceled for several days prior due to the weather being too windy so we were fortunate to be able to go that day. The park is a part of the Mesoamerican reef and the 2nd largest reef... More

Got to Puerto Morelos by Taxi. Easily found a boat to take our family of 5 snorkeling. Amazing coral reef. One in our group said it was better then the Great Barrier Reef.

Took a trip with the Cooperative Service, Parque Nacional Arrecife Puerto Morelos located at the foot of 307 near the town square. Great guides, very accommodating, one guide even personally escorted a passenger who wasn't comfortable in the rolling waves so he could see the reef and fish. We saw a huge, 2+ foot long Caribbean lobster along with many... More

I've been visiting this reef for over a decade and it's always been one of the things I look forward to when visiting Mexico. It's one of the largest reefs in the world and the sites are amazing. However, in the past 5 years the environmental damage to the reef is evident. There is bleaching in the coral, and everytime... More

there is a beautiful protected reef that they take you to in a small boat. You must have special suntan lotion that they sell or bring your own.
