Once you get past the seaweed on shore, the water is clean and warm for swimming. No waves for body surfing or boogie boarding though. Very few palm trees so very hot unless you can sit under a palapa. Enjoyed the beach just the same as it was not overly crowded and had a nice ambiance.

The Ojo de Agua Beach and Don Ernesto's bar is a perfect place to relax and enjoy many days! Snorkelling out to the Ojo cenote provides much coral and many fish such as large Eagle Rays and very large Barracuda. The beach is great for running and walking many miles. Don Ernesto's bar at the Ojo de Agua hotel is... More

This is a good beach. The Ojo de Agua is a spot where fresh water pops up into the ocean and is surrounded by fish that you can see while snorkeling.

We go to Puerto Morelos often and always put up our umbrella on this beach! We love to snorkel and this is the best walk-in snorkeling beach in the town!

there is a great swimming area right in front of the Ojo de Agua Hotel. You can snorkel out to the coral heads and see lots of life, turtles, tropical fish, barracuda. Lots of fun. It is about 18 feet deep so if you are not a good simmer bring a life jacket. Beers after from the hotel are cold,... More

The folks at ojo de agua are verybaccommodating, and the beach is much less crowded than the ones closer to the center of the town. Goodvrestaurant too.

The coral wasn't as nice as when you take a boat out to the reef, but the snorkeling was very good anyway. Saw a lot of fish including a monster barracuda!

Fun to snorkel out to the Ojo de Agua! There are plenty of places to sit, build a sand castle, get food and drink, wade in the water or take a beach walk. It is safe and sweet.

We are staying just down the beach and this has become a near daily excursion. The beach is beautiful and swimming great everywhere but not worth snorkeling off shore except at this one spot, right in front of Don Ernesto's. We drop our gear right at the flag / lifeguard station and go in from there. Angle slightly SE to... More
