I don't know if it's the time of the year, but it was pretty boring, as if in a museum. reading about trees very interesting, but a tree and leaves is a tree and leaves. WE saw no monkeys just a lot of Iguanas. It's very peaceful though. but I need more action and pretty things for my eyes

We really enjoyed our recent trip to the botanical gardens. We had been 2 years before, and enjoyed it then as well, but were glad to see that some signs had been updated. These are not manicured gardens, but rather a walk through the jungle with signs letting you know what various trees and plants are. There are sections dedication... More

We've visited Jardin Botanico several times and each time we see something different. This time we were particularly interested in bird watching, and we saw several birds we hadn't seen before. The raised platform (Mirador) gave us clear views of the jungle all the way to the town!

I have visited this place twice. I am so thankful that a small part of the Riviera Maya has been preserved for nature. It has a nice walking trail with many posted signs about the native vegetation. On both of my visits, I have seen spider monkeys (today we saw six of them, two with small babies clinging to their... More

We were staying at the Royalton just 10 mins up the road. We were looking for a cheap no hassel few hours out. This place is ideal especially if you like wildlife and plants. Make sure you put bug spray on and watch where you walk. You dont want to disturb the ants!! Round walk with map takes around 1... More

This was worth the visit, although as far as botanical gardens go it is poorly cared for, plants/trees not as well marked as they should be. Our group did enjoy walking through the jungle, something to break up the beach days. We saw no wildlife but did have fun crossing the swinging, wooden bridge.

My wife and I spent a very pleasant morning walking the trails here, a very nice change from the Resort scene. The trails seemed nicely remote, although really not far from the main highway. We saw nobody else on the trails, it was as if we had the place to ourselves. There are some minor Mayan ruins on the site,... More

We had a lovely time walking through this botanical garden. It cost 120 pesos to taxi there from our condo in Puerto Morelos and about $9 CDN entrance fee. Hundreds of plants and trees (unfortanately most of the descriptions are in Spanish and ours is limited), and a real jungle feel at times. Didn't need bug repellant although we did... More

This is a lovely, quiet green place to visit for a few hours. The information exhibits are interesting, if old-fashioned and needing upkeep. The towers and suspension bridge are fun, but rickety and a bit scary. We saw some nice birds, iguanas and butterflies but no monkeys when we visited in the late morning. We visited with children ages 8... More
