More
Explore the historic grounds where Tequila Herradura has flourished for over 145 years. Starting at the traditional residences where many Casa Herradura employees live, you will walk the roads of the hacienda as we guide you through the production process. Stops include visiting the masonry ovens where you’ll try the distinctive taste of cooked agave and see a live demonstration from our skilled Jimadors. From there, we’ll take you to visit our citrus groves and open-air fermentation tanks. Here, you’ll follow Tequila Herradura closely on its long journey to maturity until it reaches its distillation process. The day will end with an introduction to the world of Tequila Herradura’s most iconic spirits.

My family and I visited this place on a Tuesday morning. We purchased tickets for the premium tour and tequila tasting. Our tour guide, Meche, was great! We learned so much about tequila and the tequila making process. We explored the hacienda on an extended...More

There are many distilleries to visit near Guadalajara, most visitors (including me in the past) landed at Cuervo's factory by default given that it is located in the town named Tequila and the brand is well known. A few weeks ago a friend invited me...More

Alejandro gave us a thorough and entertaining tour of the grounds and factory, antigua and current. We watched an authentic Jimador in action. Personalized tasting class afterwards finished our special morning.

OMG... if you like tequila, good tequila then this is a "can't miss" experience. Even if you aren't a tequila fan the tour is very informative. From the 90 minute train ride (where they serve tequila) to the distillery tour (gonna be a jimador in...More

Are you looking for an EXCELLENT first trip exposure to tequila making? This should be it. The train runs only on Saturdays and special occasions. The Herradura Express leaves from the same station as the Jose Cuervo Tequila train but I believe there is no...More

Herradura distillery was founded about 1870. The grounds around the distillery compound are kept well maintained and are very picturesque. Tours cost 250-350 pesos depending on the tastings. The better tequilas are poured at the higher price.

You can probably contact them through their website. Christmas day is very important in Mexico and spent with family, I doubt it will be open on the 25th.

The Tequila Train only runs on weekends. We had a car but Uber is a fantastic option and is very reasonable. It is actually in Amatitlan, not Tequila, so it is a little bit closer to Guadalajara.

When I was there, the tour started at 10 or 10:15AM. Maybe you want to arrive before 10am?
