Be sure to take the inexpensive boat rides, but watch it going down the steep stairs to the boat. The boatman are very knowledgeable of the area. There are several restaurants and markets here. Parking may be a challenge because this area is very popular...More

The Ajijic malecón ("boardwalk") is just 4 miles west of Chapala on Lake Chapala. It is popular with foreign visitors. Ajijic is more like a "boutique town" to me. The Chapala malencón is much larger than the one in Ajijic and, in my view, much...More

I've been here a few times. Always to discover a different restaurant or some Shop. The park, the boardwalk, well worth the trip! Very unique!

Hotel San Francisco is located on the Malecon, right across the street from Lake. It is well located to restaurants, shops, church and taxi stand.

One of the best places for people watching. Great for families. Clean and safe. Enjoy the breezes coming off the lake.

A must for first time visitor. Small vendor stalls along the lake, try the smelt fish as you walk or even take a boat ride on the lake. One of the best ways to see the lake

Wonderful lakeside walks with many varied restaurants nearby. Take a boat out to the island or just sit on a bench and take in the beautiful mountain views, the lake with a variety of water wildlife and the odd walking minstrel.
