Set in a small plateau of Tengboche is this 100 year old monaster. It's one of the the most beautiful places in the world. Surrounded by mountains, it has a strangely mystical and out of place appearance that accentuates the beautiful Tibetan Architecture.

When we reached Tengboche, we visited the monastery in the evening. It is a big monastery. The architecture is nice and the surroundings are awesome. When we visited, the prayers were going on. The atmosphere that those prayers created was really wonderful. The setup inside was divine.
One should visit while on the way to EBC.

Tengboche Monastery is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the Everest region of Nepal. The monastery is surrounded by the majestic Himalayan peaks and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The architecture of the monastery is stunning and the intricate artwork and decorations inside are truly awe-inspiring. I had the opportunity to attend one of the prayer ceremonies and it was a spiritual experience like no other. The monks were welcoming and friendly, and it was an honor to witness their way of life. Overall, Tengboche Monastery is a peaceful and serene place that I highly recommend visiting.

Tengboche Monastery falls within the Sagarmatha National Park. It is Located at an altitude of 3867 meters and en route to Everest Base Camp Trek, it is one of the most prominent and the largest monastery in the entire khumbu region. Tengboche is surely a site that you can’t afford to miss if you are travelling anywhere near Everest.

Not much to the village of Tengboche since it is primarily a religious site among the trail to EBC. Impressive monastery with beautiful interior (no photos allowed). Buddhist veterinary available for observation in the afternoon - opens at 3pm local. Beautiful site.

The Gompa and its Monastery are lovely oasis after the long tough treks on either side of Tengboche. Slow down and give your sself time to linger here, even if it meand adding a additional day to your schedule to people watch and catch your breath. You might not ever be here again. It's too extraordinary to just pass through.

For me it was a half way stop between Namche and Pangbouche but it is a beautiful place and well worth the stop. It is though extremely cold but the views are spectacular and make sure you turn the prayer wheels or get a blessing as you are going to need it as from there that’s where the altitude really starts to kick in. At least that’s what I found
