It's one of the most beautiful Khum of Bandarban. The journey from Bandarban to Nafakhum is mind blowing. First you have to come to Thanchi from Bandarban by bus or Jeep (locally known as chader gari). from their you have to take permission from police camp and BGB camp then take a boat for Remakri. Night stay at Remakri and next morning walk towards Nafakhum, it will take about 3 hours to reach there.

When Nafa-Khum first found, it called the Niagara Falls of Bangladesh. If anyone wish to see the natural and untouched beauty of hills, please visit the inner part of Bandarban. Nafa-Khum is true beauty of small falls. The common route is Bandarban > Thanchi > Remakri > Nafa-Khum. After remakri, you need to walk around 3/4 hours walking through jhiris and picks to reach Nafa-Khum. The best time to visit this place is October. Now April - September the authority don't give permission for visit this place considering the risk of the route. From November to February it's easy to visit this place but the beauty is not comparable with the beauty after just the rainy season.
I always prefer to visit this falls and hills just after the rainy season as I can find appropriate green and water every where at hills that time.

Its in very remote area of Bandarban, Bangladesh. It takes 2-3 hour moderate trekking to reach there. You have to cross slippery stone canal several times. Its worth of time and money.
Must take trekking sandals , water , cap and dry foods.

This is not a very relax tour. You can say it as semi trekking place.
We started our Journey from Dhaka. We reached Bandarban after 8 hours. We hired a jeep & reached Thanchi by 9 AM. There guide Karim was waiting for us. We took boat to cross Sangu river. We saw Tindu, Boro pathor area. Shuch amazing places! After 2 hours trekking we reached Nafakhum. Such a beauty! We returned same way.

This is a restricted area and so far I know foreigners are not allowed here due to security risk. However it's a very nice place for trackers. To reach there first of all you have to come Thanchi Bazaar and then start for Remakri by boat. After that you to walk around two hours to reach Nafakhum waterfalls. Scenario is really amazing and wish to come here again and again.

Nafakhum is more of a cascade than a waterfall. Although in the full monsoon it is pretty hard to tell. The waterfall lies deep in the forest within the administrative region of Remakri. It is roughly a three hours walk from the village of Remakri and can be done in one day. The trail can be extremely dangerous on its day so trailers must always maintain caution. Ropes and life jackets can be found handy at times.

Nice place to visit. You'll have to walk for almost 2 hours from remakri to reach this place. But the greenary of the path will not let you to feel bad.
Start early in the morning and you'll feel the soundness of the forest.

It was a family and friends tour. We were going to Bandarban to Thanchi first by open Jeep. Then took a boat for 5 person to go through Sangu river for 4-5 hours. The boat journey was awesome. We stayed at Remakri Bazar for whole night. In the morning we started for Nafakhum fall in early morning and continued walked about 4 hours. It was amazing in deed. We came back in the same way in the afternoon. Better to take some snacks when start walking in the morning. The local inhabitants were very helpful. We took food in remakry from local hotel. Overall experience was great indeed. This can be a perfect tour for adventure lovers. Bandarban to Thanchi Jeep fare: ~1000bdt/person. Thanchi to remakry by boat: 5000-6000bdt/ 5 person. Remakry night stay:150-200/ person in local inhabitant's home. Food: 100-150/ per person in every meal time. Tips: Don't mis behave with locals, try to take some basic medications with you. Hope it will help travelers.

In the rainy season it was overflows !! it was big ! lots of water moving round in the dry season also! it was the source of life in Remakri reagion during all season!
I have been there more then 13 times.
You have to go through tindu boro pathor area with a boat and a guide which will cost 3500 for boat and 2000 for guide to visit Nafakum!
You have to take permission from Police and BGB for going there.

The 2 hours trekking takes a lot to cross, jungles, long grass fields, slippery water channels. The air is so fresh and smooth, it smells like peace. The silence, the music of the environment will take you to other world.

Costs varies. Particularly your bargaining skills to hire geep, guide and boat will come in handy. A guide can take 12-15 people and a boat can carry upto 5 people and a geep can carry 12-15 people. If you have a large group, per head cost will come down. Even than I would suggest at least 5000 tk per head for a large group and upto 10000 tk per head for a couple.

There is good restaurants in Thanchi and Bandorban city. Food is also available at Remakri bazar. At Nafakhum, food is available at Nafakhum para. You could still carry some dry food if you want. As you can not go there without a guide, ask your guide on over phone or directly if there is any ongoing food shortage at Nafakhum para. In that case you could carry few snickers and instant noodles for lunch.
