We stayed in one of the traditional huts this time, (previously we had camped). It was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the "quirkiness" of the hut.
The grounds are full of huge Baobabs and are kept very neat and tidy.
The food at the restaurant is very good and the staff helpful and friendly, especially the gentleman who signs. We have met him before and he is just so lovely, always smiling.

We went on the overnight trip to Ntwetwe pan and it has to be one of the most amazing things we have ever done in our lives. We are in our 60's and have done a lot of things but this was just outstanding.
We were first taken to visit the habituated Meerkats, my head was used as a lookout by these wonderful little creatures, I was in heaven!

We didn't take the Quad bikes on offer to the sleepout but our trip companions did. Watching the sunset on the pan was something which will live with me for all my days as will the sunrise. Stunning, just stunning.

Our guide and the gentleman who cooked the food, set up camp etc were very informative, friendly and a joy to be around. Our group was 7 people which was nice, not too big so we were able to chat and swap stories. The beds were super warm and clean. It was like sleeping in a big envelope under the stars. It was very cold once out of the bed but if you go prepared with warm clothing it's fine.

We loved our stay at PB and would certainly recommend it. If you want to do something special that will live with you forever then book the overnight excursion.

Beautiful campsite between the baobabs and with large swimming pool and cozy bar. You walk around the grounds and then you see something like 20 large baobabs and the necessary smaller ones. Own ‘hut’ where you can sit under with electricity and braai. Water is at the sinks/toilets. Showers vary a lot in temperature when showering, give little water and it is rather dark.

Planet Boabab is a nice chilled place with friendly staff however I write this review in the hope it will better inform anyone considering this overnight trip as information at the lodge was non existent.
We opted for the quad bike and enjoyed the experience out on the pan , firstly you go via safari truck then pick up quads after a bumpy 1.30 hr trip to find the habituated meerkats had great interaction and plenty of time with them the guy who stays with them knows quite a bit about the kats but you do have to ask him. Time on the quads was ample for us time on the pan for sunset before continuing to over night stop . Handed warm towels to clean up the dust on arrival and then good BBQ , singing around campfire . It was cool but not cold at this time of year and the sleeping bags were great . Non flush camp toilet as you would expect.
You sleep close to others so no privacy , I would recommend long pants for the trip as the engine on the bike is hot on bare legs , I opted for leggings and slept in them , a hoodie for sleeping was cozy and a scarf for the quads to keep some of the dust at bay is recommended. No mozzies to worry about to just toothbrush in the way of toiletries and sun cream.
Order your evening drinks at the lodge bar prior to leaving extra water would have been good as the allocation isn’t much . We took a very small day pack and that remains on the truck when you’re on the bikes .
I would say the trip is suitable for kids over 10 years there was a family on our trip they opted not to quad but otherwise the experience was the same for them.
Sleeping under the stars was amazing, so glad we did this . Hope this helps .

I recognize the bad reviews before. The staff isn't very helpful or sincere friendly. If you order food during the day you are not allowed to sit in the restaurant but have to sit at te bar or pool where there is no table. Laundry service is a problem, they don't want to wash for example underwear. The internet doesn't work most of the time. The pool is freezing so there's nothing to do there. Except going to the meercats, which quite frankly is also very very expensive. The bathrooms and toilets are falling apart. There's no locks on the doors. Also doors almost fall off. The water stream is not good and there are a lot of mosquitos there. Also no running water point nearby the campsite only at the ablution. Wouldn't recommend this place. The staff is rather lazy than working hard.

Planet Baobab was out gateway to visiting the meerkats, accomodation was in the form of a typical Botswana hut, with own bathroom facilities. Fan only, no air conditioning and beds were single with netting to keep you safe from any bugs and bitting things. Note beds are single and small in length so if you are over 5.6ft you may struggle for leg room. Bar and restaurant offer a good selection. Take plenty of sunscreen, insect spray is provided in your room. Staff were very friendly and helpful although the venue seemed to cater more so for German speaking clients rather then English / Australian. The meerkats were wonderful loved my time with them.

We showed up without a reservation and the very nice and helpful staff were able to get us a family hut as well as get us in on a half day excursion the next day (that was already fully booked but somehow they were able to figure it out). The hut was cute and cozy. Half board is included and food was good. Meerkat and pan excursion was excellent - we also saw elephants, zebras and jackals. Kids loved the pool. Baobabs around the lodge are very impressive. Super nice staff all around. Great place to stop if driving between maun and nata.

Amazing experience. Rooms are so authentic and well made up. Staff are absolutely lovely and they do this amazing deal where you pay your room and get a free bar tab! What’s not to like!

We stayed both at a campsite and in the hut. The campsite is quite horrible as the spots are very close to each other and you can hear all the noise at night. The hut was nice and kept cool even in the middle of a very hot day - good for resting! A huge bonus is that this place is the only budget option to visit habituated meerkats. The drive is one hour long and then you can have fun watching these incredible animals. Planet baobab has a quite large fenced property where you can enjoy baobabs and abundant birdlife. It's so good to walk instead of driving which is the only mode of movement in many other places in Botswana.

Stayed here just before Christmas. The staff were so warm and friendly. My father was in a wheelchair and eventhough they are not wheelchairs friendly it is possible to push a chair around the grounds and between room and dining area. Nothing was too much for them. I loved the unique atmosphere and layout. Food was good and plentiful. Nice bar. I did not go on any long excursions but did the nature walk which is nothing special and you could skip this. You actually dont see that much. Guide however was knowledgeable. Love the large pool. Please dont hesitate to stay here. It seems they treat everyone the same, campers or paying lodge guests which is lovely. The sign from the road says everyone welcome and that rings true.
