I first saw the movie in the late 1960's and was very impressed with it; I later (much more recent) purchased a dvd and watched it again. That was what prompted me to visit this section of Ukraine last August. I found the house museum interesting as was the surrounding countryside. I am very glad came to this village...did some great hiking...and enjoyed seeing this film location. As an actor myself, I appreciate the masterpiece that this movie is.

Not having the seen the movie for which this museum is named, I didn't know what exactly to expect when I visited. With the help of a local guide and translator, I received a short background on the film, its significance in global cinema, and its impact on the surrounding area.

I must say that I was truly impressed by the facility and the staff! I'm highly motivated now to find this movie with English subtitles and see it for myself.

The museum also gives you a great opportunity to see a traditional Hutsul house and even try on traditional Hutsul clothes for photo opportunities.

If you're in Verkhovel for a few days, I would highly recommend visiting this museum to get some local flavor/culture!

There are a lot of museums in verkhovyna, and this is one of the best. You can feel unforgetable flavor of Hutsulshchyna. Guides are excellent.
