    Worth a visit
Nice harbour and great places to sit and people watch. A few places to eat around the boat marina, mostly fast food but nice and friendly. A walk down The Cobb (Pier) was a must to get the views of the beach/rock cliffs. A few great shops too, which my mother in law enjoyed very much, buying 'another' handbag and some clothes in Finesse. Wish we had gone to the Customs House antique centre but was not able to. Nice Tiki bars in that part too. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

A beautiful little town, beach and harbour
A beautiful little town, beach and harbour Many amenities dotted around, restaurant, pubs, fish and chips, also pleasant little shops. Car parking is relatively limited, easy off-peak. The harbour is a lovely walk especially out on the two concrete walls. The beach is very good with views of the exceptional cliffs along the coast. Stunning little walk around, sunrise and sunset are brilliant.

A busy little harbour with pleasure trips and a few commercial fishing vessels. Some fish stalls offer tasty fish and chips to sit and eat while watching the boats. A large car park at the old station

    Pretty harbour setting.
Disappointed with Bridport especially the problem trying to find a parking space it was a pleasure to find West Bay the opposite - lots of parking despite the obviously busy feel to the place. Plenty to do and see with a climb up the west cliffs gives a fantastic view across West Bay itself. Lots of opportunities for food and of course ice cream - a great spot for camping and caravans.

    Well worth a visit
We ventured to West bay for something different after booking a glamping tent at the holiday park, and I have to say we really enjoyed it. The small harbour town that is West bay is a joy to meander around taking in the local scenes and the like. There are numerous eateries, several pubs and a little courtyard area with several licenced café/ bars to boot. The harbour itself plays host to company offering boat trips of all descriptions and they were very busy on this particular day. The beach itself is a shingle one and the holiday park certainly helps to keep the local scene vibrant.

    Lovely Place
I used to holiday here as a child and not been back since 1979. Spent a week here, lovely early morning walks on beach and round the harbour with my dog. Considering there are plenty of bins around there is no excuse for people not picking up their dogs poo.

Excellent parking. Nice harbour. Do not walk along beach near cliffs as frequent rock falls are killers. The other side of the harbour has a sheltered beach.

Very down market cafes which cannot even afford to sell Coke but usually offer some awful rubbish instead.

Geared to Saturday and Sunday lunch crowd only at weekends.

Has deteriorated in quality over the last ten years although the car parking has improved and the sea defences have been significantly improved.

Catering for the Kiss Me Quick customers who did not want to drive to Blackpool.

Lovely visit to see West Bay, very disappointed with public toilets - just boxes and v poor handwashing facilities. Other beach/seaside resorts have decent public toilets but these were 1/10. £4 for an ice cream.

Visited today. A typical British disgrace! Foreign tourists please do not visit. It shows Britain at its worst. Dog mess everywhere, extortionate car parking charges & loos atrocious. Just four portacabins to service ALL visitors with no soap and little paper. Don't waste your time visiting this place!

West Bay Harbour near Bridport, Dorset, UK. Charming little place, no real attraction apart from a stony beach and a harbour for mainly very small local dinghys and the odd inshore fishing vessel. Essentially the place is fairly pointless but busy with many tourists wandering aimlessly about wondering what they were actually doing there.
It is however a very good launch pad for some great walks along the South Coast path, especially if you don't mind steep hills and less often trodden paths once away from the main town. All very well sign posted.
However the car park in West Bay is very expensive. Stupid really as it is the council attempting to wring every last penny out of the poor motorist with extortionate fees. We would have almost certainly stayed far longer had it not been for the pressing need to arrange a second mortgage to pay the exorbitant parking fees. Thus depriving the local traders of our custom. Short sighted greed by the council or what. Will probably not bother to visit this quaint little spot again as a result.
