Radda is a very nice little town. In the middle of the town this square is located with a church and the old town hall.

This is a beautiful hill town. It is more commercial, meaning it has more stores, than for example, Certaldo. But the beauty is present everywhere you walk. This Palazzo is an example, with a large square lying before it. We spent a wonderful morning just...More

The Palazzo is only one of several quaint, historical buildings in this beautiful town. The town is not big and the lovely alleys and the tiny square can be viewed in little over an hour. A must if one is in the area.

We attended an art show here and it was quite well organised. A good venue for these types of exhibits.

The Podesta were the so-called mayors of the day and had short times in office, were imported and selected rather than elected. Their coats of arms are displayed on the ancient town hall.

For visitors there is basically one pedestrian street with a selection of small shops a lovely little church and some splendid views. It won't take long to see but it is worth including in a trip around the Chianti region.

Radda had many good shops, wine tasting cellars, and panaramic views. Good delicatessens with local saugage, meats, wine, bread, olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar. We bought these items for our 'late suppers'.
