Don't expect a castle! These are the remains and people tend to come here for a walk, to see the views across the marshes to the Estuary. Quite hilly in places and there are no facilities on site unless you visit the Salvation Army Cafe...More

Came for a walk and a look around the castle ruins in the evening. Was a nice little place for the kids to explore and plenty of opportunities for great photos as the sun started to set.

Not lots here but free and worth a look. Spent a while here walking around with my son reading the signs and enjoying the view.

Great place to spend a few hours with children and a picnic, take a kite or a ball to keep them entertained, though the old castle parts are more than enough to explore. Shame that some leave their rubbish behind

Stopped on our way to Southend... Never seen it. Loved it. Great little location. With caff/restaurant on site for refreshments. Not a lot of parking so might have to park off site. Be great to bring picnic. Lovely views.

Yes it's all good for a pushchair. May be a little bumpy in places but generally ok.
