We enjoyed a lovely day out at Osborn House. Unfortunately we were informed by staff that the lift was not working which meant not all of our party were able to access all floors. Those of us that were able found upstairs interesting. There is a good shuttle service to get to the other cottage. The most magical area was... More

Well worth a visit. Fascinating view of the life of Victoria and Albert. Gardens interestin, but not a lot of flowers other than in one section, but losts of rural, wooded views.

What a lovely place, the house is definitely worth the visit on its own, as is the Swiss Chalet. The weather wasn't brilliant so we didn't see the beach at its best, and the cafe there seemed a bit inadequate - but that did not detract from an otherwise excellent visit.

Wonderful house with knowledgeable guides who would tell you things that you might miss (mirrors over the windows in one room so that you think there were more chandeliers than there are which can be moved back in the daytime so you can see the beautiful views outside at both sides of the room. The gardens are well kept and... More

Went a few years ago and decided to come back and explore again. Nothing had changed as far as I knew which was a good thing. There was a festival on at the time with a Victorian circus and all other things going on which was lovely and they should do it more often otherwise it was a great day... More

Osborne is probably the best English Heritage property I have visited. Large car park and friendly admission staff who volunteered that not only did my Corporate Membership card give us free admission, it also gave a 15% discount in the gift shop! We started our visit by walking down to the beach, seeing Queen Victoria's bathing hut and then onto... More

Thoroughly enjoyable few hours exploring the house and grounds. Downside lift was not working so one of us was unable to see upstairs rooms.

The most spectacular room (the Derbar Room) has just been refurbished courtesy of the Friends of Osborne. It's now lost some of the feelings that it is just a place for housing artefacts and is now set up as it would have been when it was used by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert i.e. as a wonderful Victorian formal dining... Give yourself at least 4hrs to see every thing in the house, grounds and other little areas. A bit pricey to get in especially if you have a family.
