We stopped there to kayak but it wasn't really much to it. There is a river (Suwannee) we could have kayaked in but wasn't that adventurous. We did get to see a manatee in the springs so it was all good.

Relaxing 3 day visit. The cabin was wonderful and the large, screened porch with rocking chairs and a swing was delightful. I loved hiking the nature trail each morning and visiting the spring. We had cold mornings so the spring and river were thick with fog. The boardwalk out to a gazebo on the river is a good place to listen for birds in the morning. This is also a good spot for bike rides to hop onto the Nature Coast Rail Trail. We saw a manatee on our last morning at the spring.

Not as impressive as Manatee Springs; but still a nice spring to visit. Good for small children as is not deep. Bring your picnic

This park was perfect. The facilities were clean and it was not over crowded at all.
The picnic areas were well shaded and the swim area easily accessed

This is a beautiful park. There was a nice 3/4 mile hike that we walked twice. It has signs around the trail to introduce plant and animal life. The spring is closed for swimming but you can walk around the boardwalk and it is a nice walk. There are pavilions and picnic spots as well as a playground and bathroom facilities. The big problem were the ticks! All of us and our dogs were covered by many, many ticks!

Stopped by this small park while in the area. Will probably come back to swim next time we're in the area. The water was so clear! We did get to see a mama and baby manatee!

Beautiful but small. Not a lot of options but to float in the springs, which would have been lovely I'm sure, but it was so so cold. We decided to leave (even though we just paid $6 entry) to check out Manatee Springs (20 min away) which we heard had a little more to do. We ended up loving Manatee Springs much more. I told my daughter (18 years old) she may want to go to Fanning Springs instead of Manatee Springs due to the much clearer blue water. (She was scared to death of alligators). She went, but said the water was colder and she returned to Manatee Springs. So, Fanning more beautiful, Manatee more things to do like canoeing, nature river walk where we saw alligators, jumping fish, turtles, and snakes, tube rental, etc.

Not sure where I picked up all the ticks, on the short hike or at the spring. I did not brush up against anything on the trail but sat down on the concrete at the spring. Picked off at least 10 tiny tiny ticks, I hope I got them all. No warning from park officials about the tick issue. Good luck, you are going to need it.

Funny question at the end of this review about this place being a romantic spot. Yeh, if you like ticks getting real intimate with you.

We stayed in the cabins and everything was wonderful. Fully stocked kitchen.... even a dishwasher with detergent. My favorite was the wrap around screened porch and swing and an easy walk to the spring throughout your day. The cabin was super clean.... will definitely go back.

The springs might usually be nice but they were closed for swimming due to high water in the Suwannee. But the state park didn't put this info on their website so we drove 3 hrs to enjoy a swim and picnic. We did the picnic and a short little hike but they need to do a better job of updating the website. And watch out for ticks, our dog picked up bunches of tiny nymph ticks that we had to pick off each other as well.
