About
Standing at 98 feet high, this waterfall is an opportunity to see mother nature at its finest. While the hike through the tropical rainforest to reach the falls is relatively easy, you’ll undoubtedly get sweaty. Be sure to bring plenty of water, wear comfortable shoes, and reward yourself with a refreshing dip in the sparkling emerald pool at the foot waterfall. To see the pool’s stunning color at its best, vist in the late morning or early afternoon, when sunlight hits the water. If you’re looking for a convenient way to experience Santa Barbara Waterfall, book a Chapada dos Veadeiros multi-day tour. – Tripadvisor

The trail has approximately 2 km on foot and 5 km by car. Beautiful views along the walking. A crystalline water (and very cold too) in the natural pool formed by the fall, which is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen.

Cristal clear waterfall even under cloudy skies! Depending on the weather the water is more green or blue. Easy level hike to access the waterfall.

The place is amazing, the land around the falls is full of quartz, and so in the sunlight the whole falls really sparkle and the colour of the water is an idyllic turquoise. It is the perfect size, and fits every dream you may have had about a perfect tropical waterfall. However be prepared for a couple of hours on a dirt road, a queue at the end, a sweaty hike, and in busy times a limited amount of time to spend at the falls themselves.

This is a must-see in the regions of Chapada dos Veadeiros, but it does get very busy. The colors are amazing and the walk to get there is lovely. But you might find other places more beautiful, like the Catarata dos Couros. It's worth a visit though!

If you have time you must go to Santa Barbara waterfall! It is 26 km far from Cavalcante in a slow road until a small place called Engenho 2. There you have to pay 20 reais for tourism. There you have to take a guide 70 reais for a group. You can go more 1 km with your car. After that you can pay 5 reais to go by 4x4 car or walk more 4km. The last 1 km you can go just by walk. All the track worth!!!

If someone designs a waterfall, it would be just like Santa Bárbara. So green, so beautiful. Anyway, you should get there between 10am and 1pm, because the sun is up and there is so many trees around the water that only at this time the pool is sunny. It is only around 1,5 km far from the parking place, but it is around 30 km far from Cavalcante City. You will need a car. We had a regular car and we did all right, but if you have a 4X4 maybe it is safer. Rainy season, I am not sure how it goes....

After a long but beautiful hike from the Kalunga community, you reach this amazingly blue lake under a waterfall. You thought all the pictures were using filters. Nope, it's the real thing.
