Fans of Miss Fisher murder mysteries would have no doubt visited this heritage home & well kept grounds. I did too a few years ago & enjoyed it. Parking is a challenge esp. if some exhibition or event is held here. I decided to train it on 28 April to attend a garden tour. This homestead is about 10 mins... More

Visited the National Trust's Night Life exhibition at Ripponlea today. Such a beautiful home and the 1920's gowns on display were wonderful. The audio visual were well done and informative ... Very well integrated into the whole show. Stopped on after the tour to visit the gardens ... This was the best part of the day. What a fabulous estate.... More

While $15 each adult might seem steep, this is the cost of a movie. You could consider National Trust membership (especially if you are going to the UK soon). The garden is amazing. Lots of unexpected delights. DO go through the house - it is a window to another time (at the risk of sounding like a cliche). The volunteers... More

Beautiful house and gardens full of interesting history. Tour guide was both interesting and passionate about the property that fortunately was saved from being subdivided many years ago. Everybody who is working at the property today appears to be on a volunteer basis so do it for the love. My only disappointment was the sandwich I had at the tea... More

What an amazing insight into the history of Melbourne. So worth a visit! Whilst I was unable to go inside the mansion due to filming, I admired it from the outside and was lucky enough to have a guided tour around the vast gardens. So much amazing history, not just of the property, but also of Melbourne. You could spend... More

Rippon Lea House is kept beautifully. There is so much history to learn from the knowledgeable guides. The gardens are a treasure to behold. Bring a picnic and let your little ones explore the vast plantings, lawns and water features. Events are held regulary so check the website for something in which you might like to participate. We particularly liked... More

This is a must see! The house tour was fascinating and the gardens are something else! I imagined myself in the pool In the 1930s surrounded by the palm trees and gorgeous flowers... great place to visit.

Lovely place to visit on a summer's day. The gardens are really nice for a picnic on the lawn. At various points, they have exhibitions in the house, so look out for those. And in summer they have concerts in the gardens too. A great asset to the local area.
