Not your run of the mill tourist attraction. A great experience in support of a great cause. Get up close to falcons and owls. See a really cool flying display of trained predatory birds conducted by very knowledgeable, passionate trainers. Spring for the behind-the-scenes experience if you have kids along for a great learning experience and more intimate hands-on (glove-on... More

Volunteers run this wonderful place . The birds are able to feed and you can watch them in flight. The children haven't stopped talking about the New Zealand falcon that fed from their gloved hand. Until this point we have only seen them on a distant fence or in flight.

This is a great place to visit where you can see hawks and flacons up close and feel that the place is actually doing their best to help the animals rather than just for the public’s amusement. There are toilets, a small gift shop, free tea and coffee, ice creams to buy and a small museum to look round as... More

A great opportunity to see some native New Zealand birds that are normally only glimpsed from a distance, up close and personal. The aviary's great but the highlight of the day is the mid afternoon falconry display.

My nephew found this place and suggested we go. The aviary and the bird show we both enjoyed and he got to feed a NZ falcon. We both learned a lot. Love that they have umbrellas for visitors to use as sun protection on hot days.

The work these guys have put into this place really stands out, all the staff are super passionate about what they do and it makes for an epic experience. We arrived early for the show to take a look around the aviary and museum, both of which are really good. The flying display is a definite must see, it really... More

We came down for Auckland Anniversary to see family, we go somewhere different each time, and this weekend was Wingspan, it was incredibly hot, but umbrellas are provided, one of the birds was being a little monkey and wondered off chasing a hare, but came back to show us his skills, amazing, and the kids got a picture, and were...
