Stunning beach, bring water shoes if swimming as its a stony beach. Handy carparking right down the hill on a safe small road (not too steep & room to turn at the bottom), then easy steps down to the beach. Not good for wheelchair access. Nice place so sit for some peaceful contemplation listening to the water gushing through the stones.

Of all the places west of Aviles, this place stood out. 35 minutes unless you choose the coastal routes, which comes recommended, there is 10 min walk down to beach. A stony beach with a fantastic view.
In this region, a must.

Went for a beach day, and views of the beach when the tide was out was really good. Once descended the steps, the stones were annoying, and the seaweed brought in a number of flies...
Striations in the rocks are interesting
So - nice to view from a distance, though certainly nicer beaches to spend the day on. Parking on the road, or for 2 euros in a field as you approach the coast.. the road away from the beach has quite a few potholes in too.

Beautiful scenery but a bit of a hike. Well worth it though. You won’t be disappointed - it is breath takingly beautiful!

This beach is one of the most breath taking places in all of Spain. It has rocky shores and can be a bit windy. I would not recommend this beach for swimming so much as for the views it offers. There is also a nice hike down to the beach.

This oceanic beach is rough and beautiful. Highly recommended to visit while in asturias. We where very impressed by its intense beauty. Relativity easy reachable with stairs.

Deserves a visit for the fantastic view of the cliffs and the sea.
There is a one-way road leading to it.
We were lucky but i fear that in high season parking could be a problem.

Due to this beach's location if you want to spend the time on the beach itself you need the sun to be high, therefore June, July, August. We were there in October and the sun just hit the beach. That said, for photographs this area is amazing and in October we had long shadows that dramatised everything. The road to the beach is steep and narrow concrete but one way only so no need to worry if in big vehicle. That said, Parking is limited and I would imagine difficult in peak season.

The highlight of the beach are the stunning views overhead before you trudge down to the beach. Once you are at the beach the views are pretty good with cliffs on either side but the beach is very rocky. We had caught it in high tide , I imagine in low tide there would be a bit of sand and beach. So best to check tide tables. Still worth a stop but there are better ones along the way.

Amazing views of rugged coast line, steep cliffs and a stony beach. Beautiful flowers along the path. Narrow access road and steeps steps, with a handrail- thankfully-to the beach. Need to be able to get down and up to beach..

Hi, Thanks for the review, this is very helpful.
Did you stay around this area, and if so, where did you stay?
We are looking at going in June, but cant decide if we try and stay around this area (if possible) or if we just visit for the day.
Thanks
Kate

Hi! Well, we stayed at Hotel Rural Playa del Aguilar in Muros de Nalon. The boutique hotel was fantastic! And as we were having a car, we were moving around easily. To Playa del Silencio there were 20 min approx. To be honest, i dont know how is the area in June (summer). We went in winter and it was very very quiet. I would rather stay in Cudillero for example, but im not an expert. Have fun!
