Fishing, boating, picnic-ing, sports or exploring ………….. the lake has it all. Do the drive right around, from Swansea to Belmont, Warners Bay, Speers Point, Toronto, Wangi, then follow the shoreline back around to Swansea. Something for everyone here.

Went to Lake Macquarie with my brother and his wife as they wanted me to experience and meet kangaroos at the nearby point. It was fun and the lake is beautiful. Did not do any activity at the place except for some pictures.

Love Lake Macquarie, an unspoilt part of Australia, in particular the area around Wangi Wangi, so many unspoilt areas to visit, safe swimming and boating for families, plenty of bushwalks for hikers.

Yes you can go fishing in Lake Macquarie but you need a fishing license. There are a number of bait and fishing stores locally which can help with a license and bait. Fish from shore, island or boat.
