It's a small national park but has very breathtaking view on top of the mountains. Worth a trip up if you want nice pictures taken. However be prepared to pay 10-15k each for the spot and additional 20k(select 4 pics out of the many shots taken) or Mayb 50k for 12 shots. U can take unlimited shots at the platform so depends how many shots u like to take from the photoshoot and pay accordingly. They will transfer soft copy via your smartphone.

It is quite a bit of distance away from Jogja city centre but definitely worth a visit if you are nature lover.

There are a few photo spots but you will have to pay to take photos. I was at spot #2 and the camera man on duty is rather inexperience in photography. I paid RP 20k for 4 photos (pick 4 from about 8 shots) but they were badly composed with the tree right in the middle and blocked the beautiful view lol. Luckily my friend were there to snap a few photos for me.

It was on the tour programme menu.
And so after a long drive from the city, we came here. Lots of walking to get to the instagrammable-worthy spots. These are paid activities but no one forces you to participate. It was fun to watch people who loathe heights overcome their fears to get the pictures they wanted - given the picturesque backgrounds.
I fell into the category of folks content enough to appreciate the scenery and other folks willing to challenge themselves.....and wistfully wonder later if I should have also participated.
Our tour guides were patient and attentive in the event the walking and climbing would take their toll but we all thankfully survived but not without some (expected) panting.

Was it a good trip? Was it a necessary trip? Well, the park is one of the must-sees and so yes, was glad to be there but once would be enough.

I was SOO angry. We drove so far to get here. We paid the entrance. We paid 2 tickets to take our photos on one of the viewpoints. We told them in advance we wanted to take pictures with our own camera as well as buy photos from them. They said minimum for us is to buy 4 photos. Fine. Then we waited 40 mins for our turn. Then when it was our turn, they said we have to buy 8 photos. We said no - we are taking our photos together it's not separate. She said fine then it's minimum 6 photos. We got angry but said Fine. Then as I'm taking my photos, they send the next person up after me being up there like one minute (not exaggerating). They said 3 min maximum. WHAT. I yelled back and said I'd only been up there a minute. They also had never even told us about a 3 min limit and they let the locals before us stay much longer. We got into a fight - I was so angry and upset - we didn't end up buying ANY photos. And we left. So upsetting. Such a waste of time.

this place really falls short of my expectation by.... miles and miles and miles. Was totally expecting a huge park with "nature-walks" for trekking and to keep us entertained for at least half a day because it's called a "national park".
but what we got is just a "cliffy" area with about 4 small platform set up on trees as (paid) photo-spots for you to take some IG-worthy shots, and that's it.
We actually took a 1.5 hours' drive from the airport to reach this place to spend less than 30 minutes to take a few shots on the platform.
There's also a flying fox and hanging bicycle (apparently their new attraction spot) available for you to take more photos to post on your IG account.
Overall, just a very commercialized "national park" that doesn't give you must opportunity to appreciate nature.
And also, because of Ramadan, they're closed at 3pm instead of the usual 5pm. So do take note if you're still planning to visit.

Drive to kalibiru was pretty far and through very steep roads. Road up was like single lane and hence need to give way to opposite cars.

Entrance fee costs 15k rupiahs
There are about 3-4 different spots for you to choose to take pictures from. There is also a mini obstacle course (can complete in about 15mins or less).
Course costs 35k rupiahs. If you want photos with flying fox, cost extra of 30k rupiahs with min 6 photos in soft copy.

Entry to other spots for photos costs about 10-15k rupiahs. Please don't pay for the photos.. Get your friend to stand where the staff photographer was to take pic for u instead.

Verdict: nothing much, unexciting. There are other things to do in yogyakarta that are more fun

Only go if you enjoy getting charged for taking photos that will all look exactly the same, the walk available probably only takes 30 minutes there and back (it's not even circular) but we dragged it out to about an hour over all by having lunch which was nice and cheap. By national park we expected hiking opportunities and peaceful calm but we're pretty disappointed, just be aware that it won't be like other national parks

You are required to hire a jeep which could take a maximum of 4 (or 5) to go up to the park. There are not much to see unless you are really a forest or natural view person. My friends and I like it because it offers beautiful spot for photos. You may need to hire their local photographer and pay a small fee to go up to the photo platform they built. No worries though as the fee they charge is really reasonable.
I would recommend people to choose only one platform as the background they face is the same, which is the huge lake.

kinda find this place over-rated. you drive abt 1.5hrs to this NATIONAL PARK, and expect to see many stuff or walk to many places. end up you only take photos of the platforms with the national park at the background. still got to pay for a minimum number of photos. one of the stations even tried to cheat my friend by saying she didn't pay for the photos even thou she had already paid them before going on the flying fox and such. end up my friend asked them to check the accounts before they apologise for the error.

don't think they understand what is NATIONAL PARK.

I was very excited to go there as all I was expecting was a beautiful view with many things to do. when I turned up I had to walk up a huge hill and there was an entrance fee. I did not mind paying the entrance fee but what really started to annoy me was that you needed to pay to get it but you also needed to additionally pay to go on each individual platform. even though there was supposed to be set pries for the platforms, when I asked how much the platform would cost for me and my four-person group to go on, the man said a price that was tripled to the one on the sign. it was completely ridiculous, and he was speaking to me as if I was completely blurred of the situation. the view is amazing but the use of space was not good. I understand the monopoly that this place is, but I would not recommend this as a tourist spot or a 'go-to' place in Jogja. I am a domestic tourist and I can definitely say that there are many other places that are worth more to go not only in Jogja but also in other parts of Indonesia
