It was a crazy day. The waves were high and the way back with a speed boat was terrible. The pilot couldn’t find the way back. That was why it was longer reaching the home stay in Waisai. The the evening was very dark. I don’t recommend anyone to visit Wayag on August. And make a group Trip will better than only a family trip. Sure, the price could be cheaper. We made the wayag trip without an agency but a private contact. It was cheap enough but could be cheaper if we shared with some people, right?
Anyway, it was worth to pay a visit Wayag, the hidden paradise ever. Never regret. The reefs, the blue sky, the turquoise color of water....the surrounding were just unbelievable.
I suggest anyone who wants to climb up to the reefs till the top, to wear a pair of sport shoes, hand gloves and a hat or something to cover a head. I had my scarf. It was a big help. In the end, a bottle of mineral water will be needed. ps: children weren’t happy taking a speed boat.

It needed 3 hours by speed boat from Waisai. We must rent a speed boat to go here and the price was expensive enough. For small speed boat was about 12 million rupiah. Before to the Wayag island we must stop by at 2 villages to pay the retribution at 1 village and give the entry permit at the other village. The tariff was 1 million rupiah for 1 boat.
To climb up to the Wayag hill was very challenging. I recommend to use hiking shoes and glove because the climbed route was quite steep and sharp coral. It spend around 10-15 minutes to climb and quite tiring. But after arrive at the top everything paid off. The view of scattered coral islands was really amazing. The best natural view I ever see!
After visiting the Wayag hill I suggest to back to the 2nd village to swim with black tip sharks. Buy some fish from local people there and feed the sharks. It was a great experience. But do it carefully and do not swim if you have a wound.

My second time here. Wayag is the main icon of Raja Ampat which presented in many tourism brochure, promo or video. yes that its located very far from waisai (raja ampat main island) and required long traveling time on the boat. the option is to visit here by LOB (live on board) with overnight sailing.

climbing up the hill in early morning where nobody's there. because it will be full of visitor in next couple hours (around mid days).

number one must visit place in raja ampat

Worth the long boat ride! Worried about the growing pollution from the lax management of so many vusitors coming in to get that Instagram selfie.

Pulau Wayag = iconic views of Raja Ampat. Take a short walk up a steep hill for an amazing view across all the little limestone islands. Definitely worth a trip!

This place is a must see. Be sure to wear hiking shoes or shoes with a strong rubber bottom for climbing to the top for views.

This last paradise on earth really is a paradise. Its remoteness makes it even more special. We did an adventure boat trip around Raja Ampat and it took us 2-3 days to get this secluded area.
I have never seen anything this beautiful before. The landscape is insane!
It was a once in a lifetime trip!
