About
Once a film set of the 1980 musical production, Popeye Village is now a fun-filled tourist attraction. Here, you can have meet and greets with Popeye and the gang, try being a movie star for a day, hit the mini golf course, explore the elaborate interiors of set houses, take a whirl on a water trampoline, and check out the Popeye Comic Museum. Don’t miss out on the winery, where you can enjoy home-made wine while overlooking the beautiful Anchor Bay. If the weather is good, take a boat ride around Anchor Bay—from which you can take some of the best pictures of Popeye Village. – Tripadvisor

    Disappointed
Popeye village was closed due to some damage, but they still charged full price for entry, which i found out later on wasn't worth it.They said there's still a lot of fun for kids unfortunately everything looked old and neglected. It was 4 of us and I've paid 55 euro for 3 adults and 1 four years old child (child entry was 20euro). We're there literally 30 minutes, because there wasn't anything to do or see. They took photo of us and painted my sons face, which he didn't like it and asked to wash it off straight away. There was also few old games and unsafe climbing and balancing things for children. The only thing my son was interested in for longer than 5 minutes it was a mini golf. Advice to everyone avoid this place till will be fully renovated and Popeye village will be fully open, otherwise you will be the same disappointed as we were.

    Terrible experience
This place is a joke. They charge full price but the village is actually closed as it got damaged in storm. They assure you there is plenty to do for kids but all there is lots of concrete and old wooden obstacle course. Disgrace, do not be fooled!

    Closed temporarily
We knew that the village was closed due to damages because of storm in Feb so didn't buy tickets. I can see some people still went in despite of warning. There was Easter holidays event for kids and I could hear from outside that there was some sort of musical happening inside. We decided to go and have a look even if it's closed temporarily because it was only 15 mins walk from our hotel. We didn't expect to see the whole view if we don't pay to see inside BUT we went around the cliff and saw the whole set! It was such a beautiful weather(very windy though) and took some great photos. You can walk furthur down to the dock where you could see some damages. The waves were wild due to strong wind. Once it's open again,I think it would be good for younger kids but not for teenagers.

    Not worth the money
The bay is nice but the village is a waste of money, 5 minutes walk to see some cartoon houses and nothing else. They need to invest more before charge 22€/person. Just come to the viewpoint to take pictures, don't waste your time and money to enter the village, you miss nothing

    Wow....what a piece of crap
No idea where all the 5 star reviews are coming from, this is absolute garbage . It's about 40euro for two people , which would be fine accept it literally can all be seen in less than 10 minutes , the place stinks , and every bin has about a thousand wasps flying around it , conveniently placed at staircases leading to building so you have to narrowly walk past them , there's just a handful of rooms to view , outside of that there's a cafe and a place to sunbathe (why people would want to sunbathe here I don't know ) then they had a tattoo covered pop eye and cast dancing every hour or so......to an Indian song .....why!? The movie was an IMDb of 5.5 so it's not even a well received movie to visit the history . It looks great from photos but we were both shocked at how small and short it is to complete , but based on reviews everyone seems to love it so maybe we're crazy , but I can't even see the appeal for kids .

    Save your money
I wouldn't bother this place is well over priced. Not much to see. A handful of golf balls available for the mini golf. Floating debris and litter in swimming area. Find something else to do

    Overhyped
The village it self is very overhyped for what it is, most rooms are boarder off and to look through the glass only. Have food on site which isn’t too bad, the water sports is great, only downside it being where it is very hard to get in and out and rocks under water. Ended up leaving with cuts from the rocks. Lovely views and good beach chairs/huts for chilling after a swim. At the top near entrance all swimming pool and gaming area for kids or adults either or. Overall not a bad place to visit and have a look etc

A bit too touristy for me
If you decide you want to use their waterfront area to enjoy the beach this might be for you. If you want to take some cool pics with the sets you’ll be happy. If you loved the Popeye movie or Robin Williams this is for you. The day we visited it was too windy for the water sports so they discounted our tickets. That was appreciated immensely. The food choices were typical of an amusement park. The hamburger was decent. The staff did lead a fun skit that included the crowd. The sets seemed run down and staffing seemed sparse to me. It felt as though the glory days were long gone.

I went there with great expectations and left with a horrible headache. I couldn’t wait to get out. Essentially it’d be a great experience, but it is so annoyingly geared up for kids with its ear deafening loud music and shouting that we couldn’t enjoy it at all. Wherever we went, we couldn’t get away from the horrible noise. The main attraction was placed next to the restaurant, so we couldn’t enjoy our meals either and because of the super loud loudspeakers we couldn’t escape it anywhere. It’s hugely overpriced as well for what it is anyway. Do not recommend it

We visited the Popeye Village on a hot day at the end of October. It's a strange little place, while my husband and I (in our 30s) are familiar with Popeye our little girls (under 10) do not relate to the character so didn't quite get it. It's still an interesting village, the staff were all fab, lots were dressed up for Halloween and did trick or treat and games in each building which the kids loved.

The bay in gorgeous! Absolutely stunning, we really wanted to swim and use the inflatable course but the bay was full of jelly fish, I've never seen so many. The life guard didn't seem too fussed despite his purple flag he had up but I didn't want to risk it. My photos really don't convert just how many jellyfish there were, it was pretty amazing to watch them.

So instead we spent a couple of hours at the swimming pool which we loved, the mini golf and children's ninja course was also great and you get 30mins in a soft play in the cafe which is a nice way to finish the trip. Think we were there about 6 hours in total

Attended park today. Didn’t really know what to expect but it was surreal. The set is magical and amazing. Lots to do. We went for a swim after the entertainment and lay on the sun loungers after. Spent 5 hours there and definitely recommend.

Delighted. ☺️
Everything was great, just a little note - costumes could be better, Popeye's costume is really cheap and outdated.

Popeye & fun in the Anchor bay but don't miss the activities on the top portion near the exit (to your left). Accessible by bus, car, taxi and walking (although I don't recommend walking).

Excellent filming experience (if you arrive early morning or late afternoon).

Too much emphasis on the Movie but good fun around.

Fabulous fun water activities in the Anchor bay (sea side) for the kids and family.
People miss out or have too little time left when they realise that there are more activities on the top near the exit point. 2 pools and water play area plus mini golf and others.

Overall a beautiful experience of Popeye the sailor.

OMG again please avoid as it stinks if faeces everywhere in the village… something very wrong with drainage… nothing to do once there and activities available of a very poor quality… ignore the instagram photos as this is not the reality.. getting very pissed off with all the self absorbed individuals taking images of themselves pretending to have a great time… wake up and smell the coffee

We went with our 7 year old twins and spent 5 hours there. The upstairs swimming area was fab. They absolutely loved it. Don’t miss it! We brought snacks/lunch with us and we’re glad as the queues for food were very long
