The gorgeous flowers are everywhere. I don't know wht it would be like in summer, I've heard Malta is hot and dusty. But the nature reserve is calm, and interesting. I wish I knew more about the "ghost village" of abandoned houses. And what the buildings are in the reserve. There are stories to be told. It's an interesting place.... More

A rambling walk in one of the last unspoilt areas of Malta. Wild at times, with cliffs and bracing views. Good for biking, and nature,

It is definitely well worth the time to explore the ruins and surrounds located in this parkland. This site having been occupied from pre historic times through to its use in World War II, there are plenty of ruins to explore! The visitor centre is informative and well worth a look, even if only to give you pointers on the... More

Start outside Popeye Village and walk down through the reserve, finishing in Golden Bay. Fantastic views. The ground was covered with wild flowers. Friendly visitor centre. Nice, not too strenuous walk.

This park is perfect for rambling and hiking on your own, or in guided walks that also offer opportunities for bird watching and photography. And in the summer they can offer guided snorkeling trips. Don't forget to visit the Center, it is really fantastic.

Although the visitor centre was closed when we went (a Sunday), this is one of the most interesting areas to go walking in Malta's mainland. The is, in effect, at the back of the Radisson hotel on golden Bay. There are several routes to follow but we took the coastal route leading to the edge of the cliffs, before dropping... More

We stumbled upon this area some years ago an d it has become a regular escape on our regular visits to Malta. We arrived back from our latest visit a few days ago, a visit when we discovered Jeni Caruana's exhibition "Arbor Vitae" in the centre. Lovely.

The park and its visitor centre are worthy of your visit. There are not too many natural open spaces left on Malta so this place deserves your support.

Congrats to the guardians of this public park for achieving a Certificate of excellence in 2016. Fortunately this site is not a touristic attraction and is only discovered by lovers of nature. Typical of Malta's landscape, and unlike other European parks, the area is rocky with very few trees. The beauty lies in the cliffs and coastal seascape. A true... More
