This is the oldest complete walled medieval fort on the Costa Brava. Very small--and therefore easily walked and enjoyed in a half day. The views from the lookout point at the top are exquisite (and the outdoor tapas bar very convenient) and the winding paths provide places to sit and chat.

Castle in Tossa de Mar is the most beautiful of the Costa Brava. From the top you can see the whole city and a nice view to the sea. The castle can be visited at any time it is open all the time. Although it is very old castle looks very good.

Good to see the scenic beauty of the city from the top of the castle, not a tough walk up considering the facility they have provided. If you can walk on the back side of the castle you will thank me when you see a very nice/segregated beach!

Have visited this area a couple of times before and am always amazed at how unspoilt it is. The castle is located on a hill above the beach, the old world town is located to one side. Many nice stores selling local items. It is a fairly steep climb to the top of the castle area where you will find... More

Beautiful walk into Tossa de Mar, Lovely ancient streets. Visited castle, couldn't believe it was free, walked to top and went for a drink in the café. Stunning Views.

We walked to the old fort from our hotel. Not long walk but needed to climb. At the top of the castle there's a restaurant and cafe. The view is amazing.
