The Municipal Museum is the main museum located in the Vila Vella (old town) in the center, between the beach and the Castle, in Tossa de Mar, one of the most beautiful towns in the well-known Costa Brava, in Girona region, in Catalonia.
A small museum but they used their space to best advantage. There was a variety of paintings, pencil sketches, sculptures, and glassware, as well as some artefacts and mosaic pieces from the Roman era. The paintings were all very nicely framed too.

Cheap to enter at just 3 euros per head. There is an absence of English translation on some of the exhibits which is annoying. They say it takes 1.5 hours to get around but with just half a dozen small rooms and limited items it...More
Its only 3 Euro's to visit this museum. The staff are not at all welcoming, a friendly "hola" or "hello" wouldnt go amiss. Very disappointing in that respect. That said, there is lots to see from early roman influence up to modern artist.. Very peaceful....More
This is a pretty museum within the castle wall at the top of Vila Vella. Very reasonable entrance fee. Well laid out. Interesting Roman pieces but the main thing for me were the paintings - Modern art put together since it openen in 1935.
