Interesting people - the locals v the tourists. Early morning the best as tourists r still sleeping. Check picture of art nouveau hotel but more interesting is the beast on the adjacent balcony....oink oink.

The walk around Vila Vella and its ramparts was filled with breathtaking views of the Med. Imagining defending the city against pirate attacks added to the fun.

Walking though the medieval Old Town was amazing but the views were even more amazing. We arrived in the morning so the crowds had not yet arrived, which added to the beauty and serenity of the place. We had a coffee at the top of the Vila Vella at Bar del Far de Tossa....what a great choice. As we left... More

Its well worth walking up the old castle and exploring its winding passageways both by day or by night . You have a beautiful view out over the sea from the top where you can see sea gulls or watch the boats travelling between Lloret and Tossa. In the height of the summer sun there are also plenty of quiet... More

Tossa de Mar came as a bit of a surprise; it is close to Barcelona and on the Costa Brava", but for a number of mostly geigraphical issues, it has not over-developed. The Old Town was a further surprise. Intact and occupied by residents as well as restaurants, this delightful area Tossa dates back to the 15 century, and has... More

Tossa's Vila Vella is everything a medieval village should be: narrow, winding cobblestone streets; churches; museums;interesting buildings and loads of atmosphere. The village even has a castle, lighthouse and beach! It's very easy to spend a lazy and enjoyable afternoon (or more!) in this charming town.

Take the bus from Barcelona, and soon you will be at one of the most beautiful place on earth. We went there on during winter in January so almost every store and business were closed and the beach was too cold for a dive. Still, the place is dreamy. I want to go back when is warmer.

Tossa is absolutely incredible. The walk down the narrow paved whitewashed streets to the beach, nestled by the stunning Old Town is a memory I will treasure. The Vila Vella is a perfectly preserved Old Town, with houses, ruins and shops. The view from the lighthouse is gorgeous....the Mediterranean is spread before it like a sapphire

If you are visiting Tossa you must take the time to walk through the Old Town. You should really go by foot if you can because the most beautiful parts aren't accessible for the tourist train. Great views looking over the sea and the town.
