Tossa is a favorite holiday destination for many tourists with the main attractions being it's position ,the lack of development that has spoiled other destinations, and the beach. There are four beaches in Tossa all with the “Blue Beach” standard The largest, the Platja Gran, runs...More

The beach is gorgeous when you look down on it from above (see my pictures) but that's where it stops. The 'sand' is actually a variety of small and large stones and it gets painful to walk on after a few strides. It's no better...More

This beach is overcrowded, coarse sand and pebble. Not comfortable for swimming and sunbath taking, Do not recommend.

Tossa de Mar beach is very pleasant but may be a little steep in places to enter and leave the water. The sand is gravelly but not too uncomfortable. The facilities around the beach are generally good

Glad to have visited Tossa de Mar and spending a day here. Lovely pebble beach with a more amazing view of medieval history. Would highly recommend to do a day trip here while visiting Costa Brava. If you are coming from Barcelona, there are buses...More

This beach has a castle right on it and a lot of boat tours. It was a good place to relax, a little crowded and very touristy though. There were a couple of topples women and naked children but nothing overwhelming.

I personally love this beach. Pros: clear water, not a single rock under the water, view of the castle Cons: Pretty packed during high season so make sure you get there early to get a good spot for your towel!

I visited with my six year old son. It was busy and hot at 11am. The beach is more shingle and need good beach shoes otherwise your feet hurt plus sand gets very hot as does the boardwalk. Sea has a shallow shelf for about...More

Whether the winter storms, or the work of the early morning tractor, the Platya Gran seems more level and with less of a slope this year. In June the sea was gin clear and, after chilly first entry, lovely for swimming and snorkelling. Can get...More

This beach is freaking beautiful!! Calm clear aqua-blue water with small waves on a beach of trillions of small pebbles (not painful) and a freaking castle on the end to stare at. The water was cold but only at first, plenty of places to eat...More

The beach is very beautiful and clean, but on the weekends it is very crowded. On one side of the beach there are tourist boats, so we dug a bit away on the other side of the beach.

I agree with the above thoughts. However, there are boat trips that run from the beach. You can buy your tickets from the booths which are on the beach too. And there is diving too.
