It is sure a great view from the top. It amazes me every time we go up to a castle in a cable car. The engineering brains to build it... really going up the castle wall. 👍👍. The orgel music was a new experience to...More

Unlike most European castles, this one is peppered with explanations of local and regional history. I spent three hours reading and exploring; it was fascinating. I came away with a much more in-depth feel for how the local culture was formed. At noon there was...More

The Castel dominates the city skyline and overlooks the river. Today you can find here a nice museum and see the great view of the city and river

We got the post bus from Soll to Kufstein (€1.40 each way if bought from tourist info in advance rather than €5.40 on bus) and then walked the historic trail around the Fortress - best bit is the "wine alley" at the beginning. We then...More

We thoroughly enjoyed checking out the castle. Did the whole thing in about 90 minutes, took great pictures and enjoyed all of the history on display. What's interesting about the Austrians, is that they take so much pride in laying everything out well. It made...More

This is a must see attraction when in the area. It has an interesting history and there plenty of information boards (in German) that provide insight to how the castle originated, and its various owners over the years. The prison tower was particularly interesting, with...More

The fortress has a little bit of everything to see. I would recommend downloading audio tour to your phone and bringing headphones. There is a very neat pipe organ that is played once a day- try to time your visit for this experience. The history...More

There is an audio tour that you can download and do your own guided tour. It was a bit long in places for me, but then you can just skip to the next bit. I can't remember if they did tours led by a human guide or not. Sorry.
