When in Honduras, you must visit the lake. There are many excellent restaurants & quaint hotels. It is the only natural lake in Honduras.

Hotel Finca Las Glorias is a great place to stay and rent water equipment. The ranch sits on the banks of the lake and the breeze is so fresh and sweet, even in the summer. The fish are caught daily and they are delicious.

Lake Yojoa is a must on your way to the Caribbean coast of Honduras. The scenery is very beautiful, great fried fish on the road (El Jardin del Bass) and astonishing natural parks nearby (PANACAM). A must to know in Honduras.

Wonderful lake - as large and pretty as any of the more famous in Central America (Atitlan being the obvious one) but much less busy and spoilt. Lots of walking opportunities and good range of wildlife. Must-see in Honduras!

The Lake Yajoa area is quite nice but many zoom by on the main road between SPS and Tegucigalpa. It's well worth visiting the area and the hotel options are improving although restaurants could improve (fried fish is still the best thing). The D&D brewery...More
