Lepakshi, in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, is easily accessible from Bangalore. The beautiful Veerabhadraswamy Temple and India’s largest monolithic granite Nandi (a bearlike creature) make for a great day-trip option.

Drove down with family from Bangalore. The place is not very big and can be finished within the day. road is good. Try to have a guide to explai .Best if we can reach early morning to avoid afternoon sun. There are not much eating options in Lepakshi, so need to plan for the same.

Well honestly speaking i had great expectations before visiting the place. But the place was a little disappointing when I reached there. Nevertheless, a good visit to a historic place. The Veerabhadra temple and The Nandi are the main attractions. The place was under the patronage of the Vijayanagara empire. It is believed that the place was never fully completed.
