This church is located in a small square deep within Montpellier’s old quarter. Unfortunately, every time I tried to enter it was closed. From the exterior, however, it is an impressive stone structure. Be sure to look for the bronze scallop shells in front that mark the Camino de Santiago route through the old city.

It's not grand but it is tastefully decorated with a long history. They have some good explanations for free and it is quiet and meditative inside.

This is a great church, the biggest in town. The street Rue de l'Aiguillerie is one of the most idylic places with shopping, bars, restaurants.

The basilique Notre-Dame des Tables is located near the Esplanade Charles de Gaule. It is a Baroque style temple built in the middle of the 18th century. It's algo been a resting place of pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela.

Somebody put pics of the cathedral here (which has nothing to do with my rating). The basilique is a plain uninteresting church. I was out in 1 minute flat.

Visit the beautiful basilica as well as the attached medical school. Enjoy the quiet streets around the basilica and the church bells which ring hourly.

This is a must visit, as stated in the title a timeless place to visit. The interior is one of superb magnificence. It took us over an hour to explore the interior of this church and I am not one for spending time in a church. In one word, I was awestruck. If you don't go to this church then you have not been to France

This magnificent old building is in the historic centre of Montpellier, and definitely worth a visit. We were fortunate enough to have seen an advertisement for a classical concert given by the Cologne Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra on 19 September. The acoustics were perfect for this beautiful performance, and the rich and ornate interior made it a perfect evening.
