This is the oldest Monastery in Sikkim and tranquil destination of Yuksom. After 8/10 minutes hiking you will see how natural beauty blends with spiritual significance. This is the ideal place for meditation due to peacefulness. You can spend endless time here but thr Monastery closed 6PM. The architecture is well maintained. There is no entry fees.

Beautiful and serene atmosphere. The painings on the monastery walls are beautiful (refer photos). You have to climb about 50 steps to reach the monastery from the road but it is well worth it.

The Monastery is on a small hillet. The Monastery is a bit big with everyday prayers going on. You can feel the divine serenity here.

What a beautiful old (1701) monastery! A bit of a climb up the usual rocky path to a gorgeous setting. The monastery is open to the public, and very well maintained. Well worth the climb!

It was an adventurous trekking to the monastry. The road towards the monastry is very bad with practically no proper road. Our car took us a little closer to the monastry from where we had to climb 332m. It was steep and slippery due to moss covering the road.My son and niece were very excited as we had to climb the hill to reach its top where the monastry is located. When we reached the top we were all very happy to the see the old monastry with a large complex from where we could see the mountains all around us.The cold breeze was a great relief to us as we were sweating a lot after the climb. The monastry is beautiful and serene.

Beautiful monastery. But one needs to trek around 20-25 mins uphill to reach the place. Would recommend if you willing to trek.

Dubdi Gompa Monastery is considered the oldest monastery in Sikkim, built in 1701. The Gompa is located in a charming garden on a ridge above Yuksom. The way to the monastery takes about 30 minutes up through a fantastically beautiful forest.

The monastery is one of the oldest in Sikkim. Recommended for people on a day trip to Yuksom / Pelling or going or returning from trek to Gochela.
Set-up in nice and serene environment, it has a soothing and calming effect on you.

The whole experience is great ... its a steep road to reach the monastery from its base thru thick woods and gives an amazing feeling. Walk slowly and take your time to appreciate the nature around you. You hear lot of birds chirping & calls and If you are lucky you get to see the wood owl.
The monastery and its surrounding area is well maintained and there is a lama school near it. Its a good 2/3 hour out and relish nature.
