The trek we recently completed with Red Panda was an unforgettable experience, marked by breathtaking scenery, immersion in local culture and unique moments of sharing.
From our first steps, we were amazed by the majesty of the landscapes. The green valleys, dotted with crystal clear rivers and waterfalls, offered a striking contrast. Every day brought its share of breathtaking panoramas, surpassing our expectations.
Beyond the landscapes, this trek allowed us to discover Himalayan culture. The small village of Dzongri was imbued with authenticity, and the monasteries with touching simplicity. The meetings with the inhabitants, always smiling, were particularly striking.
The meals served to us have always been excellent, making each break a precious moment of recovery.
Trekking was also a physical challenge. The steep paths and altitude variations put our endurance to the test. Each step forward was supported by our guide Tarune, and moments of fatigue were quickly dissipated by the camaraderie that had developed between us.
In short, this trek with Red Panda was much more than just a hike. It was a total immersion in nature and culture, a real inner journey. The memories we created will remain etched in our hearts, and we leave with a new perspective on the world.
We definitely recommend this adventure to anyone looking to reconnect with nature and live authentic moments.
We would like to thank our guide, and the whole team, the cook, porter and yak man, who greatly enriched our experience, and who made this adventure even more memorable and especially achievable despite our ages 73 and 69.

Incredible trekking experience to Lake Goechela with Red Panda, 7-day itinerary with a top team.
Experienced guides who adapt well to the pace of the group.
Excellent cuisine! The cook adapted to everyone's diet, and not necessarily just Indian (rather nice, especially for breakfast if you're a little tired of it).
I recommend !

I had the founder's son Tarun as a tour guide for the Goecha La trek. Tarun was a fantastic guide - he gave a lot of interesting explanations to me, not only about the local nature but also about the local history, politics, religion, and so much more! I really enjoyed hiking with him and his team, and felt honored when he invited me to his home to meet his family. Thank you for all the discussions and insights, the laughter and sweat, the great meals and the professional guidance!

Great experience, very laidback and friendly. Made us feel like family and put us up and fed us for the day before and after the hike. Good sleeping bags and tents provided. The cook and guide both did a great job, very tasty food. Check the weather as it is very changeable and can get very cold. Take some small cash up with you as there are places to buy food and warm clothing if need be. Views were spectacular as promised.

I did Goechla Trek with Red Panda, and had the most amazing experience! I was introduced to Tarun, a knowledgeable and well experienced guide. He knew everything there was to know about the area, and how to give the tourist the best possible experience. Red Panda also welcomed me into their home and treated me as family. I am very fortunate to have been introduced to this company, as they have given me many happy, and valuable experiences to take home with me!

I recently took a trek with Red Panda.
Highly Recommended.
This was a beautifully managed and stunng trip to Gocha La. They were friendly and professional, i couldnt have asked for more!
They have campsite, home cooking from their organic garden, lent me a jacket, it was all no problem: quality and personal touch.
The nature in the mountains is breathtaking.

Dec 2017 • Friends
We took 8 days of office in dec '17 for a small trekking & zeroed to Sikkim & by seeing reviews from foreigners we thought RED PANDA is the only guy who operate from YUKSOM, so we choose him, At the beginning of dec we enquired with him, he told for a pack of 3 its difficult to manage, in spite of good weather in Dec month, after two weeks he phoned us & he told he is OK with the 3 Member packs & he told us to pay 15K each, we were OK with his proposal & also he gave all the details on the of the trek & carry items, By the time we tried to book the flight it was increased by 3 fold of the trekking cost, ie. 45K per person, still we went through the trip, when we reached airport taxi was arranged to travel 155KM from Airport to Yukom, ( the base camp & Red panda Office ) we left at 1500 & reached yuksom at 2300, there we had to pay 5500 INR for the taxi, again we were supposed to pay 1500 INR for the hotel we stayed,( which he told he will manage ) next day morning we went to Red panda office, He harassed us asking additional money of 7000 INR, telling he cannot manage the trip with 15000 INR,/ per person & he told if we are not paying you can go back to the airport, finally with no choice & hard discussion we paid 2000 each, He hired freelance Guide, Porter, Cooks & Yaks for the trip, we carried with the trip, & we entered the forest, around 3 PM it started to get chill, & we realized we need to wear down jacket, but only to realize the all the down jacket was not sent on YAK by Mr Danraj of Red panda as per his promise, we shivered for days, & no response from him inspite of repeated follow up till Tsoka overphone, finally we took as a rent for 3 days from the fellow trekkers guide who were going down, ( per set 500 INR ), ultimately we ended up with the big mess of our holidays, then returned back to base camp, again we were supposed to pay hotel charges & taxi charges to the airport of 1500 & 5500,
The learning's from this Himalayan Trekking:-
1) First understand the climatic condition in advance
2) Plan prior to 3 months in Advance ( to reduce the cost )
3) Dont rely only on the online reviews & decide, Understand from actual trekkers experience
4) If agent is not communicating with you properly, Dont continue with him ( In case of Red panda, He never talk to you properly, all half information )
5) Proper break up of budget to be taken from Agent
6) Agents like red panda Takes good care of the foreign tourist & ignores indians, ( Although we ended up paying more than the foreigners ) He gets more business from foreigners as cheap & good service by their reviews post, also came to know he is an adopted by american couple, they support him with the website & budgetary matters
5) Also make sure the taxi from airport to the base camp vice versa, ( in our case yuksom has very few taxi & share taxi, share taxi is 500 / person, whereas taxi is 5500,
and this panda will make sure that only his know taxi is used by the trekkers, if go ahead & book the share taxi, He will make sure share taxi driver call you & cancel the bookings, so that you have to go in his taxi without any option leftover, by this he will get 500 - 1000 INR,
6) Inquire from other cities who manage the trip, likewise Gangtok, Silliguri & even in yuksom itself there are about 30~40 trek agency..
7) make sure your pack is more than 10 members, if so you will not face price bargain once you reach base camp.

Stay as far as you can from this agency. They are totally unprofessional and wait for eventualities to happen so they can earn as much as they can from suffering people. They are totally unprepared & doesn't even carry oxygen cylinder with the team(one of our team member needed in emergency but they were helpless & she suffered badly; Luckily she is still alive paying exorbitant money for her bailout). They can ask as much money from you if you need to be bailed out of the trek. Their behavior in need is extremely rude. Provide very poor quality food during the trek & many of the time try to miss the food. They will not at all follow the itinerary & change as per their comfort. Worst Experience ever in my 10 years of trekking life.

I have had the most amazing Dzongri trek with Red Panda tours and travels dated 23-05-2023 to 29-05-2023 Day 1 of the trek me and my team was recieved by trek leader Tarun Gurung and his family (Red Panda Tours). A very warm welcome was recieved. Throughout the trek delicious nourishing meals were provided in a timely manner and each and every needs of my group was taken care of. I would like to applaud trek leader Tarun and his team of 3 (cook, yakman, porter) for taking special care of us and baking us a delicious cake on the last day of the trek. Also I had met with a small accident at Lakshmi Pokhari and Tarun had taken care of me like his own sister. The trek ended with a lot of jokes and some delicious tea. To conclude it was an amazing experience with Red Panda and I will definitely choose Red Panda for my future treks. Keep up the amazing customer experience Red Panda. Much love and respect for your team!! ❤️😊
