Lovely fort with the top easily reachable with just 20-30 minutes of walk. The view of the surrounding rural countryside is rewarding given that it is not a tough journey to get there. There is also a Shiva cave adjacent to it.

The fort has been heavily reconstructed. There are several sets of walls, all reconstructed, even those amongst the houses. Unfortunately (from my point of view) reconstruction has been done with the aim of creating a tourist attraction and a selfie site, rather than any sort of historical accuracy. The mini-ziggurat at the top is a humorous example. Disappointing unless your objective is another selfie. Even so, it is an impressive site as you approach the town and affords great views from the top. The cave temple/ shrine is unimpressive.

Not much crowded, small but beautiful fort on the outskirts of Pudukkottai. Has been used as an outpost for guarding the city. It gives a excellent view of the surroundings. The place is well maintained and worth a visit for history lovers. Don't miss the temples adjoining the fort. Wonderful old temple architectures to be seen

If you’re on the way to Karaikudi then you can stop by 15-30mins. You must climb more steep steps to go to the top area. Best time to visit in the morning otherwise should be very hot.

This fort is situated on the Trichy - Rameswaram National highway just on the outskirts of Thirumayam town. Unfortunately the fort has not been maintained properly since many years and is undergoing dilapidation year after year.
It is possible to trek to the top of the fort and spend some quality time enjoying the 360 degree view of the town. There used to be a cannon and a cave temple inside the fort, not sure if they are still maintained well.

Nothing outstanding with this fort, just a hillock on which a concrete wall of sorts had been built, you can climb over the top wherein there is a flat bed wherein you can spend some time watching the views around, but honestly nothing around to testify the history!

The fort is situated on the only hill in the vicinity so I was enjoying the good view. The area is well maintained and relatively clean. I didn't go to the two cave temples in the fort area as the ladder to the caves was too steep and occupied with many monkeys. The entry fee for foreigner is relatively high.

We paid the 300 Rupee entrance fee (foreigners) against the advice of our guide who said there was nothing much there. However, although it is not so much a fort as a fortified hilltop post surrounded by an impressive wall, there are great views from the top of the central platform on all sides for many miles, given the flatness of the local terrain generally
